Neues zum Thema “Citroën und die Kunst” – das Motto des Unternehmens in diesem Jahr – aber diesmal aus einer ganz anderen Perspektive:

Derzeit wird im Paris ein neuer Film gedreht – basierend auf der Romanvorlage “L’Écume des Jours” (deutsche Fassung: “Der Schaum der Tage”) von Boris Vian dreht der französische Regisseur Michel Gondry derzeit die 4. Verfilmung der 1947 entstandenen Novelle, die von “Le Monde” zu den 100 bedeutendsten Büchern des letzten Jahrhunderts gezählt wurde.

Suite101.de beschreibt das Buch wie folgt, Zitat:
“…ein Buch…das dem Leser die Verstörungen menschlicher Existenz kredenzt – mit der zärtlichen Unverhohlenheit des absurd Surrealen… Boris Vian (1920 bis 1959) erzählt in seinem 1947 erschienenen Roman “Der Schaum der Tage” von den Lebensstationen von sechs jungen Leuten, deren Existenz zusehends diktiert wird von der Willkür des Nichts. Existenzialistischer Appell, selbstbestimmt zu handeln? A rolling “The froth on the daydream” in Paris

Currently in Paris a new movie is being produced – based on the novel “L’Écume des Jours” (English booktitle: “The froth on the daydream”) by Boris Vian, French director Michel Gondry is currently shooting the fourth adaptation of the 1947 written book which was counted by “Le Monde” being of the 100 most important books of the last century.

Suite101.de describes the book as follows, quote:
“… presenting the reader the disturbances of human existence – with the tender ignorance of the absurd, surreal … Boris Vian (1920 to 1959) recounts in his 1947 novel “The froth on the daydream” of the life stages of six young people whose existence is increasingly dictated by the arbitrariness of the void. Existential appeal to act independently? The life will be snatched from the void, the world is a monster without a spark of grace, a chasm, as barbaric looping spring awakening …”

Nouveau film: “L’Ecume des Jours” – et les voitures des rèves?

Actuellement à Paris un nouveau film est en train d’etre crèe – basé sur le roman “L’Ecume des jours” par Boris Vian, le réalisateur français Michel Gondry est actuellement en tournage de la quatrième adaptation du livre qui etait crée en 1947, et qui a été compté par “Le Monde” un des 100 livres les plus importants du siècle dernier.

Suite101.de décrit le livre comme suit, je cite:
“… Que l’existence Verstörungen lecteur humain servi – avec la conscience l’ignorance des grottes d’appel d’offres de l’absurde, surréaliste Vian … Boris (1920-1959) raconte dans son 1947 roman” L’écume du jour “des étapes de la vie de six jeunes dont l’existence est de plus en plus dictée est le caractère arbitraire du vide. Appel existentiel à agir de façon indépendante? La durée de vie sera arraché le vide, le monde est un monstre sans une étincelle de la grâce, un gouffre, comme l’éveil du printemps barbare en boucle … ”

Die Versteigerung des Jahres: Citroën 2CV AZAM 1965, 116 Miles, 59.568 Euro

Manche Dinge mag man gar nicht glauben, hätte man sie nicht selber erlebt: Die Artcurial-Auktion im Rahmen der Pariser Retromobile 2012 präsentierte eine der absoluten Pretiosen, die es so nur einmal zu sehen – und zu ersteigern – gab.

Wie schrieb Artcurial in ihrem Versteigerungs-Katalog:

“…Wie viele Menschen kennen Sie, die sich 1965 einen neuen Citroën 2CV kauften, sie wegstellten und jahrzehntelang nicht berührten? Wahrscheinlich nicht einmal einen. Sein perfekt erhaltener Zustand ist es, was dieses Auto völlig außergewöhnlich macht. Wie auf der Originalrechnung angegeben, wurde es von Bill Harrah aus dem Citroën Showroom in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, neu gekauft. Als Enthusiast von Oldtimern war Harrah einer von einer sehr exklusiven Gruppe von Sammlern und besaß einen Bugatti Royale, zusätzlich zu den Hunderten von bewundernswerten Automobilen, die er in seinem Museum in Las Vegas ausgestellt hat. Hierhin wurde der 2 CV geliefert. Im Januar 1965 wurde es in das Museum auf einer Palette angeliefert, wo es ohne Bewegung seit 40 Jahren abgestellt wurde. Der jetzige Besitzer kaufte es vor etwa zehn Jahren und hat es praktisch nicht bewegt, was die 116 Meilen auf dem Tacho erklärt. Ja, 116 Meilen. Wahrscheinlich der niedrigste Laufleistung irgendeines 2CV aus dieser Zeit. Nachdem unter perfekten Bedingungen gelagert wurde, ist es ziemlich so neu, wie am Tag als es das Werk verlassen hat…

Zusätzlich zu diesen unglaublichen Umständen handelt es sich um eine ganz besonders gesuchte Variante mit Selbstmörder-Türen, dem kleinen Aluminium-”Doppelwinkel”-Kühlergrill, 425ccm Motor und einem Armaturenbrett aus lackiertem Metall. Die Spezifikationen des Modelltyps “AZAM” führen polierte Aluminium-Sicken, Stoßstangen mit Chromstreifen, roten Sitzbänken im Stil des Citroën Ami6 und einem Gepäcknetz im Fond. Es war eines der letzten Modelle seiner Art, bevor die Karosserie dann sechs Seitenscheiben erhielt. Und um einen Hauch Exklusivität mehr hinzuzufügen, als wäre das jetzt noch notwendig, handelt es sich um eine 2CV “California”-Version, mit speziellen Blinkern auf den vorderen und hinteren Kotflügeln, die wie Wassertropfen geformt sind. Um die Befestigungsbohrungen zu cachieren, wo die Standard-Blinker montiert gewesen wären, fügte Citroën einen horizontalen Doppelwinkel nach vorne zeigend hinzu… Das charmante Detail ist Teil dessen, was diesen 2CV wie keinen anderen ausmacht, und Neid bei allen Besitzern von 2CV und Enthusiasten anderer Auto-Ikonen erzeugen wird…”

Soweit das Zitat von Artcurial. CITROENVIE, das nordamerikanische Online-Club-Magazin, berichtete darüber hinaus weitere Details vor einigen Tagen.

Der Amerikaner und Citroën-Clubmitglied Greg Long erwarb den 2CV von der “Harrahs Auto Collection” im Jahr 2004 als einige Fahrzeuge aus dem Museum verkauft wurden. Greg pflegte den Wagen weiterhin und kümmerte sich durch gelegentliche Aufwärmrunden darum, den Wagen in Schuss zu halten. Im Jahr 2009 fand das “Citroën Rendez-Vous” statt, bei dem die “Ente” dann auf das Ausstellungsgelände gefahren wurde und hier bis dahin die meisten Meilen zurücklegte. Aber eigentlich fand der größte Trip dieses einzigartigen Fahrzeug durch Gregs Bruder John Long statt, der eines Morgens bei dem Besuch seines Bruders in West Virginia den Wagen startete, um mit ihm fürs Frühstück einkaufen zu fahren – und Greg dann herausfand, daß weitere 40 Meilen auf dem Tacho hinzugekommen waren!

Greg entschied sich aufgrund der Besonderheit dieses Wagens und seines Kilometerstands und Gesamtzustands, den Wagen nicht weiter für möglichen persönlichen Verkauf zu nutzen und entschied sich stattdessen für seinen Verkauf. Der Citroën 2CV wurde nach Europa verschifft, dort zu einem Fotoshooting gebracht und dann auf der Retromobile 2012 versteigert.

Der Wagen wurde geschätzt auf 30.000 – 40.000 Euro und ging in einer atemberaubenden Auktion zum Preis von 59.568 Euro zzgl. Auktionsgebühren an seinen neuen Besitzer über.

Wir hoffen, daß der Wagen ebenfalls öffentlich zu sehen sein wird und nicht in einer privaten Sammlergarage den Blicken der Öffentlichkeit entzogen sein wird…!

Once in a lifetime auction: Citroën 2CV AZAM 1965 in as new condition, 116 Miles from new, sold for 59,568 Euro

Artcurial wrote a quite nice description for this insanely outstanding Citroën 2CV auction, quote:

“…How many people do you know who bought a new 2 CV in 1965, tucked it away and left it untouched? Probably not even one. Its perfectly preserved condition is what makes this car totally exceptional. As stated on the original invoice, it was bought new from the Citroën showroom in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles by by Bill Harrah. An enthusiast of classic cars, Harrah was one of a very exclusive group of collectors to have owned a Bugatti Royale, in addition to the hundreds of marvels that he exhibited in his museum in Las Vegas. It is here that the 2 CV was delivered. In January 1965, it was pushed into the museum on a flatbed where it stayed without moving for 40 years. The current owner bought it some ten years ago and has scarcely used it, explaining the 116 miles showing on the odometer. Yes, 116 miles. Probably the lowest mileage for any 2 CV from this period. Having been stored under perfect conditions, it is pretty much as new as the day it left the factory…

In addition to these unbelievable circumstances, it also happens to be a desirable version, boasting suicide doors, small aluminium ‘double chevron’ grille, 425cc engine and painted metal dashboard. The AZAM specifications include polished aluminium beading, bumpers with chrome over-riders, red Ami 6 style bench seats and a baggage-net in the back. It was one of the last models of its type, before the bodywork changed to feature six side windows. And to add a touch more exclusivity, as if there is any need, this 2 CV is a ” California ” version, fitted with special indicators on the front and rear wings shaped like drops of water. To cover the fixing holes where the standard indicators would have been, Citroën added a horizontal double chevron pointing forwards, like two arrows launched at speed…This charming detail is part of what makes this 2CV like no other, and the envy of all 2 CV and iconic car enthusiasts…”

CITROENVIE, the Northern America’s club magazine, wrote some more details about this car:

“…Greg Long purchased it from Harrahs Auto Collection in the USA in 2004 when they decided to liquidate some cars. Greg took care in preserving the 2CV and only drove it sparingly. Its biggest outing was trailering it to Rendezvous in 2009 and then driving it over to the show field. In fact the greatest mileage in any trip was put on by Greg’s brother John, who when visiting Greg and the family in West Virginia got up early one morning (as John is prone to do) and decided to take it for a leisurely jaunt to the grocery store to pick up some food for breakfast. Greg was astonished to discover when he got up that mileage had increased by 40!… Realizing the rarity and value of the car, Greg felt it would be best be going to a collector rather than piling on the miles being driven by him… So it was off to Paris for a photo shoot and then prominent display in one of Europe’s most prestigious auctions.”

The auction estimation was around 30,000 – 40,000 Euro but then the auction went sky high and the car finally was sold for 59,568 Euro. We hope that the new owner will also show the car publicly so that other enthusiasts can still admire this outstanding vehicle…!

2CV AZAM 1965 a vendre, juste “116 miles” au compteur: 59.568 Euro – vendu!

Connaissez-vous beaucoup d’individus ayant fait en 1965 l’acquisition d’une 2 CV neuve, avant de la stocker bien au sec et de ne plus y toucher ? Non, bien sûr, probablement aucun. C’est ce qui rend la 2 CV que nous présentons ici tout à fait exceptionnelle. Comme nous le montre se facture d’achat originale, elle a été achetée neuve par Bill Harrah dans le showroom de Citroën Beverly Hills, à Los Angeles. Grand amateur d’automobiles anciennes, Bill Harrah faisait partie des rares collectionneurs à avoir possédé une Bugatti Royale, parmi les centaines de merveilles qu’il exposait alors dans son musée de Las Vegas. C’est là qu’a été livrée la 2 CV, en janvier 1965 sur un plateau, pour ne plus en bouger pendant quarante ans. Son propriétaire actuel en a fait l’acquisition il y a une dizaine d’années, et ne l’a guère utilisée, ce qui explique les 116 miles qu’affiche le compteur. Oui, 116 miles, soit environ 185 km, probablement le plus faible kilométrage couvert par une 2 CV de cette époque. Ayant été abritée dans des conditions optimales, à l’abri de l’humidité, elle est donc quasiment neuve, telle qu’au jour de sa livraison…
En plus de cette incroyable particularité, il s’agit d’une version désirable, dotée des portes suicide, de la petite calandre en alu dotée du double chevron, du moteur 425 cm3, du tableau de bord sur le boîtier trapézoïdal en tôle peinte. La finition AZAM lui apporte quelques baguettes en alu poli, un pare-chocs avec tubes de protection chromés, des banquettes rouge style Ami 6, un hamac porte-objets faisant office de plage arrière… Il s’agit d’un des derniers modèles du genre, avant que la carrosserie n’adopte les six glaces latérales. Pour ajouter encore une touche d’originalité, s’il en était besoin, cette 2 CV est une version “California”, équipée de clignotants spéciaux en forme de goutte d’eau sur les ailes avant et au bas des ailes arrière. Pour dissimuler les orifices de fixation des clignotants “normaux” sur les montants arrière de pavillon, Citroën a ajouté un double chevron horizontal, dont les deux pointes sont tournées ver l’avant, figurant deux flèches lancées à vive allure… Ce détail charmant contribue à faire de cette 2 CV un modèle à nul autre pareil, qui fera l’envie de tous les amateurs de 2 CV et d’icône automobile…”

La voiture etait destiné a vendre pour 30000 a 40000 Euro mais etait vendu par 59.568 Euro – incroyable!

Die Pressemitteilung der CDG zu einem bemerkenswerten neuen Prototypen:

“…Als Ergänzung zu den C-Modellen der Marke Citroën steht die DS-Linie für den besonderen automobilen Anspruch. Die Citroën DS-Linie öffnet neue Perspektiven in der Welt der gehobenen Fahrzeugsegmente. Inspiriert durch über 90 Jahre Automobilgeschichte voller Innovationskraft hat die Marke Citroën für die Entwicklung der DS-Linie ihr gesamtes Know-how in Sachen Kreativität und Technologie in die Waagschale geworfen. Nach dem Citroën DS3, dem Citroën DS4 und dem Citroën DS5 ist das Concept Car Numéro 9 ein weiterer Ausdruck der DS-Linie, der eine Fahrzeugsilhouette neu durchdenkt, die in der Geschichte des Automobils für ihr Prestige bekannt war: der Shooting Break.

Das Concept Car Numéro 9, das eine gut durchdachte Verbindung aus den Proportionen eines Coupés und denen eines Kombis eingeht, lässt außergewöhnlichen Fahrspaß erahnen – langgezogene Linien, eine lange Motorhaube, eine Höhe von nur 1,27 Meter und 21-Zoll-Räder. Numéro 9 verfeinert die bislang bei der DS-Linie verwendeten Ästhetik-Codes und führt die Identität der Frontpartie der künftigen Modelle der DS-Linie wie auch eine vollkommen neue Lichtsignatur ein. Diese neue Frontpartie hebt sich vor allem durch einen neuen Kühlergrill hervor, dessen Relief durch eine dreidimensionale Linie betont wird; ein Kühlergrill, der in die LED-Scheinwerfer übergeht, an deren Außenseiten sich die Tagfahrlichter befinden. Durch Kombination der Gene des Coupés mit denen des Shooting Breaks bietet Numéro 9 eine rassige und gleichzeitig elegante Linie. Seine dichte und skulpturähnliche Silhouette wird durch feine Spannungslinien betont. Numéro 9 unterstreicht damit seine Andersartigkeit und Raffinesse.

Die charakteristischen Züge der DS-Linie sind in diesem Concept Car in konzentrierter Form zu finden. Hier die ausdrucksstärksten: das schwebende Dach, das von einer verchromten Leiste betont wird, auf der die sehr filigrane DS-Prägung zu sehen ist, oder auch die seitlichen verglasten Flächen, die sich bis zur Heckscheibe ziehen.

Und nicht zuletzt die Farben und Materialien von Numéro 9, die sehr geheimnisvoll und kunstvoll anmuten. Die tiefschwarze Karosserie mit leicht violetten Nuancen, welche die Bezeichnung „Whisper“ trägt, passt perfekt zu den warmen Chromelementen mit Namen „California“.

LEISTUNGSSTARKE UND KREATIVE INNOVATIONEN – EIN ANSPRUCHSVOLLES ERBE

Das Concept Car Numéro 9 verbindet Technologien, die bemerkenswerte Leistungen in Sachen Komfort und Sicherheit bieten und zusätzlich umweltbewusst sind, mit starken und intensiven Fahreindrücken für die Insassen: kreative Technologien, die perfekt das Know-how der Marke unterstreichen.

Ein ausgefeiltes Design

Um die Aerodynamik zu optimieren (SCw, Widerstandsfläche = 0,61 Quadratmeter), wurde bei der Entwicklung von Numéro 9 jedes noch so kleine Detail bedacht:

- Der Heckspoiler verstärkt den Fastback-Effekt,

- die A-Säulen erleichtern die Luftzirkulation rund um die Fahrgastzelle

- und auch die „Turbinen“-Felgen erleichtern dank ihrer integrierten Lamellen die Luftströmung um die Radkästen und reduzieren somit Turbulenzen und den Kraftstoffverbrauch.

Die Technologie Full-Hybrid Plug-in: für ein gesteigertes Umweltbewusstsein bei beeindruckenden Fahrerlebnissen

Mit der Technologie Full-Hybrid Plug-in passt das Concept Car Numéro 9 voll und ganz zum Umweltbewusstsein der Marke Citroën.

Der wiederaufladbare Hybrid-Antriebsstrang charakterisiert sich durch die Anbringung des Elektromotors an der Hinterachse. Diese einfache und innovative Konfiguration ist perfekt auf den Charakter von Numéro 9 abgestimmt: Sie optimiert das Fahrverhalten und die Motorleistungen und stellt dabei bemerkenswerte Verbräuche und Emissionen sicher.

Das Concept Car Numéro 9 kombiniert je nach Marktanforderungen einen Benzin- oder Diesel-Verbrennungsmotor mit einem Elektromotor, der sich an der Hinterachse des Fahrzeugs befindet und eine Leistung von 70 PS und ein Drehmoment von 200 Nm entwickelt. Der Elektromotor wird durch Lithium-Ionen-Batterien versorgt, die sich über eine haushaltsübliche Steckdose innerhalb von 3,5 Stunden aufladen lassen. Das anlässlich der Auto China (Motor Peking Show) ausgestellte Modell ist mit einer Benzinmotorisierung 1,6 THP ausgestattet, die eine Leistung von 225 PS (165 kW) und ein Drehmoment von 275 Nm bereitstellt.

Dank der Plug-in Hybridisierung trägt Numéro 9 zu einem gesteigerten Umweltbewusstsein bei. Dies kommt vor allem im Stadtverkehr mit dem Modus ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) zum Tragen: Der Modus ZEV ermöglicht hier die Nutzung des reinen Elektroantriebs mit einer Reichweite von 50 Kilometern. Aber auch auf Wegstrecken, die häufiges Beschleunigen und Abbremsen im schnellen Wechsel erfordern, wird durch die Hybridisierung der Verbrauch durch Nutzung der beiden Antriebsarten limitiert. Bei Autobahnfahrten übernimmt der Verbrennungsmotor allein den Antrieb und bietet dabei hervorragende Leistungen.

In 5,7 Sekunden beschleunigt Numéro 9 von 0 auf 100 km/h und 1.000 Meter legt das Fahrzeug (aus dem Stand) in 28 Sekunden zurück.

Außerdem wechselt Numéro 9 bei den erwähnten starken Beanspruchungen, aber auch im Falle von schlechter Bodenhaftung in den Allradmodus: Der Elektromotor treibt die Hinterräder an, während die Vorderräder durch den Verbrennungsmotor angetrieben werden. Bei erschwerten Fahrbedingungen, wie beispielsweise bei Steigungen auf verschneiter Fahrbahn, kann der Fahrer den Allradmodus manuell auswählen. Dieses Auslösen des Allradantriebs kombiniert mit der aktiven hydraulischen Federung garantiert eine verbesserte Motorleistung bei perfekter Ausnutzung des Potenzials von Numéro 9 unter Berücksichtigung aller Sicherheitsaspekte.

Marketed alongside Citroën’s main range, the DS line explores new automotive territory. Based on more radical choices, it opens new perspectives in premium vehicle design. Inspired by ninety years of history and automotive excellence, the DS line illustrates the best of Citroën expertise in terms of creativity and technology. Two years after its launch, the DS line – comprising the Citroën DS3, DS4 and DS5 – has already notched up more than 200,000 sales.

Pursuing its career, the DS will be launched this year in China. To mark the event, Citroën has designed a new concept car, Numéro 9, to be unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show. This concept heralds the future of the DS line and signals the styling cues of the next three models in the line: a C-segment premium sedan, an SUV and a D-segment executive saloon.

Concept car Numéro 9 sublimates the DNA of models in the DS line. It expresses radical choices in design with immediately recognisable styling that is both inspired and emotional. Sophistication is allied with a highquality finish for original driving sensations and features that are truly useful every day. Its charismatic body styling revisits the shooting brake, while the new front end is designed for plug-in full-hybrid technology. A FRESH TAKE ON FRENCH-STYLE LUXURY

Bold design

Following on from the Citroën DS3, DS4 and DS5, concept car Numéro 9 takes a fresh look at the DS line. It is a new take on a body style with recognised prestige in automotive history: the shooting brake. Subtly combining the proportions of a coupé with those of an estate, Numéro 9 hints at exceptional driving sensations, with its taut lines, long bonnet and ultra-low stance (1.27 m tall) on its 21-inch wheels. But it also promises unique onboard comfort, with its generous proportions and the three light shafts in the roof, creating a unique, friendly ambience for all passengers.

Numéro 9 is 4.9 m long and 1.94 m wide with a 3 m wheelbase. This has the advantage of freeing up leg room for passengers in the rear. Its roomy looks – an invitation to get behind the wheel – reflect the real requirements expressed by buyers in the executive segment for function and versatility. Inspired by shooting brake design, Numéro 9 is a new executive take on D-segment design, alongside the more conventional saloons. A charismatic car with real character and immediately recognisable styling, it is continuing the story of the DS line.

The start of a new chapter

Great care went into every detail of concept car Numéro 9, which is a stylish embodiment of the heritage and sophistication of the DS line. Designed in Paris, the capital of fashion in its most superb and universal form, Numéro 9 opens a new chapter in the styling of the DS.

Numéro 9 sublimates the design cues cultivated by the DS line and introduces the new front-end identity of future models in the DS line, along with an original light signature. The new front end features a grille in 3D relief, flowing into the full-LED headlights, which end in daytime-running lights. The overall effect gives Numéro9 a strong, hypnotic and unique gaze.

A concentrate of DS qualities

Combining the genes of a coupé and shooting brake, Numéro 9 has elegant, thoroughbred looks, with solid, sculpted proportions revealing subtle lines of tension. In this way, Numéro 9 cultivates its status through its distinctive and sophisticated character.

The concept car condenses the distinctive forms of the DS line. The most expressive features include the floating roof, underlined by a chrome trim with a discreet DS marking, and the glazed side surfaces flowing into the rear window.

Last, through its body colours and materials, Numéro 9 displays both mystery and sophistication. Its deep black bodywork with subtle hints of violet, baptised ‘Whisper”, is a perfect match for the warmer shade of the “californian” chrome finish.

A LEGACY OF CREATIVE HIGH-PERFORMANCE TECHNOLOGIES

The technologies used by concept car Numéro 9 combine comfort, safety and respect for the environment, while also delivering subtle but strong driving sensations for all those on board. Creative technologies that perfectly illustrate the Marque’s expertise.

Inspired design

Every detail of Numéro 9 was designed to contribute to its efficiency (CdA = 0.61):

- a rear spoiler reinforcing the fastback effect;

- windscreen pillars contributing to the air flow around the cabin;

- and ‘turbine’ wheels whose integrated fins increase the air flow around the wheel arches, thus reducing both turbulence and fuel consumption.

Plug-in hybrid technology: eco-awareness and driving sensations

With its full-hybrid plug-in technology, concept car Numéro 9 is a perfect fit with Citroën’s environmental policies.

The plug-in hybrid drive train has an electric motor on the rear axle. This simple and innovative configuration is perfectly adapted to the character of Numéro 9: it optimises handling and traction, while limiting fuel consumption and emissions.

Concept car Numéro 9 thus combines a combustion engine, petrol or diesel depending on the market, with an electric motor on the rear axle developing power of 70 bhp and torque of 200 Nm. This electric motor runs on lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged in just 3 ½ hours from a normal domestic socket. The model on display at the Beijing Motor Show is fitted with a 1.6 THP petrol engine developing 225 bhp (165 kW) for torque of 275 Nm.

With its plug-in hybrid technology, Numéro 9 respects the environment. This is particularly true in the city, where the car has a range of 50 km in all-electric ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) mode, and on roads demanding successive acceleration and deceleration, where the hybrid drivetrain limits consumption by using both sources of energy. On the motorway, the combustion engine takes over to deliver real performance. Numéro 9 features new-generation micro-hybrid technology designed to switch the combustion engine to standby whenever it is not required.

No compromises have been made on driving comfort and sensations. Quite the opposite. When the driver needs speed and torque, a “boost” function links the power of the combustion engine and electric motor to enable Numéro 9 to attain high levels of performance (295 bhp), without impacting fuel consumption (1.7 l /100 km and 39 g/km de CO2). The car takes 5.4 seconds to go from 0 to 100 kph and 25.3 seconds to travel 1,000 m from a standing start.

In cases where more power is required, or when grip is lacking, the car switches to four-wheel drive mode, with the electric motor driving the rear wheels, and the combustion engine the front wheels. In particularly difficult driving conditions, driving up a sloping, snow-covered road, for example, the driver can select forced 4WD mode. The four-wheel drive system and hydraulic active suspension deliver increased traction while making full use of the potential of Numéro 9 in complete safety.

Looking beyond on-road performance and environmental benefits, this full-hybrid plug-in technology offers a third non-negligible advantage: the cabin can be prepared before the car is used. For example, it can be preheated to ensure the comfort of all the occupants as soon as they climb on board.

Les trais distinctifs de la ligne DS se condensent dans ce concept car. Parmi les plus expressifs : le pavillon flottant, souligné par une signature chromée et sur lequel apparaît en discret filigrane la trame DS, ou encore ses surfaces vitrées latérales rejoignant la lunette arrière.

Enfin, dans l’expression de ses teintes et de ses matériaux, Numéro 9 se révèle mystérieux et sophistiqué. Sa carrosserie noir profond aux nuances subtilement violacées, baptisée ‘whisper’, se marie parfaitement aux finitions en chrome ‘californien’, à la coloration légèrement chaude.

DES TECHNOLOGIES PERFORMANTES ET CRÉATIVES EN HÉRITAGE

Technologie Hybride Plug-in : au service de l’environnement et des sensations automobiles

Avec la technologie Full-hybrid Plug-in, le concept car Numéro 9 s’inscrit complètement dans la démarche environnementale engagée par Citroën.

La chaîne de traction hybride rechargeable se caractérise par l’implantation du moteur électrique au niveau de l’essieu arrière. Cette configuration simple et innovante s’avère parfaitement adaptée au caractère de Numéro 9 : elle optimise son comportement dynamique et sa motricité, tout en lui assurant des consommations et des émissions remarquables.

Le concept car Numéro 9 combine ainsi un moteur thermique, essence ou diesel selon les marchés, à un moteur électrique implanté au niveau du train arrière du véhicule développant une puissance de 70 ch et un couple de 200 Nm. Ce moteur électrique est alimenté par des batteries lithium-ion, rechargeables en 3 h 30 seulement sur une prise de courant domestique. Le modèle exposé à l’occasion du salon de Pékin adopte une motorisation essence 1.6 THP, dont la puissance est de 225 ch (165 kW) et le couple de 275 Nm Grâce à l’hybridation plug-in, Numéro 9 contribue au respect de l’environnement. C’est le cas notamment en usage urbain, avec le mode ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicule) qui permet d’accéder à un mode tout électrique d’une autonomie de 50 km, ou encore sur les routes exigeant des accélérations et des décélérations successives où l’hybridation permet de limiter la consommation en mettant en oeuvre les deux énergies. En usage autoroutier, le moteur thermique prend le relais en offrant de réelles performances.

Numéro 9 bénéficie aussi d’une technologie micro-hybride de dernière génération capable de mettre le moteur thermique en veille dans des situations où le fonctionnement de celui-ci n’est pas utile.

L’agrément et les sensations de conduite n’ont pas été sacrifiés. Au contraire, en cas de forte sollicitation de la pédale d’accélérateur et de demande immédiate de couple, une fonction « boost » associe le couple du moteur thermique à celui du moteur électrique et permet au concept car Numéro 9 d’atteindre des performances de haut niveau (295 ch), sans pénaliser la consommation (1,7 l/100 km et 39 g/km de CO2). Le 0 à 100 km/h est atteint en 5,4 secondes, et le 1 000 m, départ arrêté, est franchi en 25,3 secondes.

De plus, dans le cadre de ces fortes sollicitations, mais aussi en cas de faible adhérence, le véhicule passe en quatre roues motrices, le moteur électrique entraînant les roues arrière tandis que le moteur thermique fait tourner les roues avant. Dans des conditions de roulages particulièrement difficiles, par exemple en montée sur une route enneigée, un mode 4×4 forcé peut être sélectionné par le conducteur. Ce déclenchement des 4 roues motrices, associée à la suspension active hydraulique, garantit ainsi une motricité renforcée, tout en exploitant parfaitement, et de manière sécurisée, le potentiel de Numéro 9.

Au-delà des performances routières et environnementales, cette technologie full-hybrid rechargeable offre un troisième avantage non négligeable : l’habitacle peut être préconditionné avant chaque utilisation du véhicule. Il peut ainsi par exemple être chauffé en avance, garantissant un bien-être à tous ses occupants dès la montée à bord du véhicule.

Jeweils montags bis zum 14. November 2011 werden auf der Website der Tour neue Episoden der spektakulären Reise zweier Traction Avant Type 11B von Baujahr 1950 veröffentlicht. Die beiden – für die materialmordende 1600km lange Reise durch den arikanischen Kontinent entsprechend präparierten – 11CV zeichnen Teile der historische Route der berühmten Croisière Noire Citroen von 1924 nach. Teilweise waren nur Etappen von 1-2km pro Tag möglich…

Im Rahmen des 80-Jahr-Jubiläums der Croisière Jaune, die Citroën 1931/1932 von Paris nach Peking durchführte, wird das Team T3 von Eric auch eine Revival Tour im kommenden Jahr 2012 durchführen: über Teile der damaligen Route hinweg – ohne jedoch noch einmal Strassen in die Gebirgsregion des Himalaya schlagen zu müssen – wird eine Neuauflage der berühmten Expedition vom 11. Mai 2012 ab Paris starten und am 29. Juli 2012 in Peking eintreffen.

The expedition BIOTRECK ASIA 2012 starts on 11 mai 2012 from Paris until 29 July 2012 when arriving at Bejing…

Citroën erneut Hauptsponsor bei der Pyronale

Die Citroën Deutschland GmbH ist erneut Hauptsponsor der Pyronale, die am 2. und 3. September 2011 auf dem Berliner Maifeld in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft zum Olympiastadion stattfindet. Beim Feuerwerk-World-Championat trifft sich bereits zum sechsten Mal die internationale Elite der Feuerwerkskunst zum Wettstreit um die technisch brillanteste, pracht- und phantasievollste Feuerwerksshow.

Nach der Präsentation durch die sechs teilnehmenden Länder-Teams aus Malta, Kanada, Russland, Finnland, England und Polen kommen die erwarteten 60.000 Besucher an beiden Veranstaltungstagen in den Genuss eines großen, musiksynchronen Citroën Abschluss-feuerwerks. Im Zentrum der Szenenfläche erstrahlt eine Lichtinstallation, die den Eiffelturm skizziert. Sequenzen in den Citroën Farben sowie Feuerwerkseffekte in den Farben der Trikolore stellen den Bezug zum Hauptsponsor des Großereignisses und zu Frankreich her.

Für Citroën stellt das erneute Engagement bei der Pyronale eine logische Fortsetzung einer Werbestrategie mit der besonderen, kreativen Note dar und reflektiert die Markensignatur „Créative Technologie“. So sorgte Markengründer André Citroën bereits in den 20er Jahren für großes Aufsehen, als er mit mehreren tausend Glühbirnen den Citroën-Schriftzug auf dem Eiffelturm aufleuchten ließ.

Citroën again main sponsor at “Pyronale”

Citroën Deutschland GmbH (CDG) again is the main sponsor of the “Pyronale” Fireworks World Championships which will be celebrated on September 2nd and 3rd 2011 at the Berlin “Maifeld” area right next to the Olympic stadium in the German capital. For the 6th time, the international elite of fireworkers are competing to present the most brillant and spectacular fireworks show to the audience.

After the presentation of the participating teams from six countries (
Malta, Canada, Russia, Finland, England und Poland) the expected 60.000 visitors gets to enjoy a light installation which is related to the double chevron. In the center the Eiffel tower will be attract the attention, accompagnied by sequences of both Citroën colors and the French Tricolore.

By reflecting the brand claim “Créative Technologie”, Citroën consequently continues the communication of it’s strategic position. Company founder André Citroën already created a visibly experience when the brand name was visible through the installation of thousands of light bulbs at the Paris Eiffel tower during the 1920′s.

Im Jahr 1931 gab André Citroën den Startschuss für die „Croisière Jaune“, die „Gelbe Kreuzfahrt“. Diese Expedition von Beirut nach Peking verlief über Stecken, auf denen vorher noch nie ein motorisiertes Fahrzeug gefahren war und begeisterte damals die ganze Welt. Um das Jubiläum dieses wissenschaftlichen, künstlerischen und menschlichen Abenteuers zu feiern, präsentiert Citroën ab dem 17. Juni 2011 die CITROËN CRÉATIVE TOUR, eine beispiellose Wanderausstellung.

Von Berlin bis Moskau über Paris: Die CITROËN CRÉATIVE TOUR, lädt Groß und Klein in die Welt der „Créative Technologie“ ein und präsentiert dabei einzigartige Concept Cars. Und ab Herbst 2011 wird dann in China weitergefeiert…

CITROËN CRÉATIVE TOUR: Ein mobiler Pavillon für eine beispiellose Wanderausstellung

Bei der Überquerung des Himalayas im Jahr 1931 zwangen Erdrutsche die tapferen Pioniere der „Croisière Jaune“ ihre Kettenraupenfahrzeuge zu demontieren, um die schier unüberwindlichen Strecken zu bezwingen. 80 Jahre später hat Citroën in Anlehnung daran die CITROËN CRÉATIVE TOUR ebenfalls auf dem Prinzip einer mobilen Struktur entwickelt.

In einem originellen Pavillon, der sich aus drei Kuppeln zusammensetzt, wird die Wanderausstellung vom 17.-19. Juni 2011 im Ballongarten in Berlin, dann vom 24.- 26. Juni 2011 im Hof des Invalidendoms in Paris und schließlich im September 2011 im Herzen Moskaus stattfinden.

Drei Kuppel-Pavillons für drei Ausstellungswelten

Der Besuch der CITROËN CRÉATIVE TOUR führt durch drei miteinander verbundene Kuppeln, die jede auf ihre Weise die Kreativität und die Innovation von Citroën belegen:

Die Kuppel „Innovation“:

In der größten Halle des Pavillons taucht der Besucher in die Welt der „Créative Technologie“ der Marke ein. Überraschende zeitgenössische und interaktive künstlerische Kreationen begleiten die ausgestellten Fahrzeuge. So wird die skultpturähnliche Motorhaube des Citroën C4, die hier mit einem Thermochrom-Lack versehen ist, als Kunstwerk ausgestellt und lädt zum Anfassen ein.

Neben der Studie Revolte werden die Modelle der DS Linie – Citroën DS3, DS4 und DS5 – ausgestellt. Der DS5, der im vergangenen April in Shanghai enthüllt wurde, wird für die Marke die Full Hybrid Technologie, HYbrid4 einführen.

Die Kuppel „Sinnesempfindung“:

Der Raum in der Mitte ist der Interaktivität und der digitalen Unterhaltungstechnik gewidmet. Hier kann sich der Besucher insbesondere im „Live Car Painting“ versuchen und das Dach eines Citroën DS3 über einen Touchscreen farblich gestalten. Alle, die Nervenkitzel lieben, können das Concept Car GTbyCITROËN im bekannten Spiel Gran Turismo 5 steuern (verfügbar für Sony PlayStation 3).

Die Kuppel „Expedition“:

Die letzte Halle zeigt die wagemutige Expedition der „Croisière Jaune“ vor 80 Jahren. Ein Original-Kettenraupenfahrzeug wird inmitten von Expeditionsmaterial der damaligen Zeit ausgestellt. Hier können die Besucher die spektakulärsten Momente entlang der Strecke der Expedition miterleben.

Concept Cars, die sich im Herzen der Hauptstädte präsentieren

Dreimal täglich werden im Rahmen der CITROËN CRÉATIVE TOUR Concept Cars, wie beispielsweise der Survolt oder der GTbyCITROËN durch Berlin fahren. Der Citroën Survolt ist ein echter Rennwagen mit einem rein elektrischen Antrieb, und der GTbyCITROËN ist die reale Version des von Citroën für das Videospiel Gran Turismo 5 entwickelten Fahrzeugs.

Im Zusammenhang mit diesen spektakulären Concept Cars organisiert Citroën ein Gewinnspiel über eine eigens dafür eingerichtete Internetseite (www.creativetour.citroen.com), bei dem die glücklichen Gewinner Beifahrer in einem dieser Ausnahmefahrzeuge sein werden.

Die CITROËN CRÉATIVE TOUR, eine neuartige Reise durch Raum und Zeit, beweist 80 Jahre nach der „Croisière Jaune“, dass der Wagemut, die Innovation und die Kreativität der Marke Citroën aktueller denn je sind. CITROËN launches “Créative Tour” to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Croisière Jaune

André Citroën launched the Croisière Jaune in 1931. A pioneering rally raid from Beirut to Beijing along routes that had never before been travelled by motorised vehicles, the expedition fascinated the world. Eight decades later, the brand has lost none of its daring spirit. To celebrate the anniversary of this extraordinary scientific, artistic and human adventure, CITROËN is launching a new cross-border event, “CITROËN Créative Tour”, an innovative road show drawing young and old into the world of “Créative Technologie” complete with parades of outstanding concept cars. The tour kicks off in Europe in Berlin from 17 to 19 June, followed by Paris from 24 to 26 June and Moscow in September. The celebrations will continue in China before the year’s end with more surprises.

A movable pavilion for an innovative road show

In 1931, faced with the crossing of the Himalayas and the danger of landslides, the valiant pioneers of the Croisière Jaune had to dismantle their half-track vehicles to get through the roughest terrain. Some 80 years later, the brand has once again chosen the same dismantle-and-reassemble principle for the CITROËN Créative Tour. This original road show will be stopping in Berlin at the BallonGarten park from 17 to 19 June, in Paris at the Invalides building from 24 to 26 June and in the centre of Moscow in the autumn, before moving on to China for more festivities.

Three “domes” for three distinct creative exhibition spaces

Comprising three linked-up domes, the pavilion used for the CITROËN Créative Tour illustrates all of the brand’s boldness and creativity:

– “Innovation” dome: the largest space in the pavilion immediately transports the visitor to the world of CITROËN “Créative Technologie”. The vehicles are displayed alongside astonishing contemporary and interactive artistic creations. The sculptural bonnet of the CITROËN C4, finished in heat-sensitive paint, constitutes a work of art in its own right. The “Revolte” concept car is flanked by the DS line, namely the DS3, DS4 and DS5. This last model, revealed in Shanghai in April, will be the first CITROËN to feature full-hybrid technology, HYbrid4.

– “Sensation” dome: this space, located at the centre of the pavilion, is dedicated to interactivity and digital leisure. Visitors can have a go at “Live Car Painting”, colouring in the roof of the CITROËN DS3 using a touch screen. Thrill seekers can get behind the wheel of the GTbyCITROËN concept car on the famous Gran Turismo 5 game, available on Sony PlayStation 3.

– “Adventure” dome: the third space showcases the daring exploit of the 1931 Croisière Jaune. A half-track vehicle is on show, surrounded by the expedition equipment that was used at the time. Visitors also get to relive highlights of the adventure with a map of the expedition animated by films projected by a special robot!

Concept car parades in city centres

In each capital city destination, the CITROËN Créative Tour will feature parades of the brand’s emblematic concept cars three times a day. With models including Survolt, a 100% electric true-blooded racing car, and GTbyCITROËN, a real-life version of the car designed by CITROËN for the Gran Turismo 5 video game, thrills are guaranteed! And for still more excitement, CITROËN is organising a competition via a dedicated mini-website (www.creativetour.citroen.com), with lucky winners getting an insider’s view of the event as a passenger in one of these exceptional cars!

Wer schon immer einmal auf den Spuren von André Citroën wandeln wollte, kann dies – mit relativ kurzfristiger Anmeldung – über den französischen “Club André Citroën” tun, der am 14.-15. Mai 2011 eine entsprechende Route für Interessierte geplant hat.

Ab dem Eiffelturm gehts los – zunächst zur Filiale von CITROËN in Evreux, in denen André Citroën die Modelle CITROËN AC4 und C6 präsentierte, später zum Casino von Deauville, in dem er Stammgast war.

Starting from the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the tour will get you to the affiliate of CITROËN in Evreux, where André Citroën presented the types CITROËN AC4 and C6 to the public, and later to the Casino of Deauville, where he was known to be a frequent visitor.

Die Veranstaltung fand zum ersten Mal im sehr repräsentativen Gebäude des Citroën Racing Teams statt, das im Südwesten von Paris in Satory/Versailles seinen Entwicklungssitz hat. Auf dem unmittelbar benachbarten Rennkurs und Testgelände von Satory werden die WRC-Rallye-Fahrzeuge den Testrunden unterzogen, bevor sie für den Einsatz in den WRC-Rennen weiter vorbereitet werden.

This was the first time that the ACI AGM took place at the Citroën Racing location southwest of Paris in Satory/Versailles. This is the place where the WRC cars are being made which are tested right next to the highly atmospheric building, and where the final preparations are being made eg. for the current DS3 WRC cars before they join the prestigious international rallyes…!

Neues Buch zum “Patrimoine Citroën” / Conservatoire

Ende 2010 ist eine sehr interessante Publikation von Automobiles Citroën über das Conservatoire, also die Werkssammlung der Citroën-Historie (“Patrimoine”), erschienen.

Das im Format 21,5 x 30,5 cm aufgelegte zweisprachige Werk (frz./engl.) präsentiert auf rund 90 Seiten besondere Unikate und Pretiosen aus dem historischen Erbe des Unternehmens. Einzelne Modelle wie auch Kampagnen (z.B. Raids), Einblicke in das Werksarchiv, Dokumente sowie Geschichten und Anekdoten der vergangenen Jahrzehnte erlauben einen sehr schönen Einblick in den berühmten Fundus. Das sehr ansprechende Layout sowie die exzellent in Szene gesetzten, fotografisch professionell inszenierten Details machen diese Publikation sicherlich zu einem “must have” in der Sammlerszene!

Auf der in dieser Woche stattfindenden Pariser Oldtimer-Messe “Retromobile” kann es vorraussichtlich in der Citroën-Boutique (innerhalb der Citroën-Club-Stände zu finden) erworben werden.

Nicht vielen Leuten ist es überhaupt möglich, das Conservatoire zu besuchen. Es ist nämlich kein Museum im klassischen Sinne, sondern gilt als Archiv für Fahrzeuge und begleitende Historie. Aus dem Fundus werden dann einzelne Stücke z.B. für Präsentationen im Showroom “C42″ auf den Champs-Elysees sowie Veranstaltungen von und mit Citroën, z.B. den “ACI Event Of The Year”, ICCCR etc. und natürlich Messen entliehen bzw. bereitgestellt.

Nur wenige hundert Besucher pro Jahr wird der Zutritt zum Conservatoire gewährt. Kleine Besuchergruppen können sich für eine Besichtigung nach vorher vereinbarten Terminen anmelden. End of 2010, a new publication by Automobiles Citroën was released – about the “Patrimoine Citroën” – the Conservatoire.

The landscape-sized hardcover book is printed in dual language (english / french) and gives a very nice insight into the historical jewels of Automobiles Citroën. Unique prototypes, cars and outstanding items from the stunning collection of the French brand are being presented. The short and well-written stories dedicated to each object or type give some interesting insights into the outstanding heritage of the manufacturer. Also the excellent photographers’ artworks provides a rich visual experience to its readers.

The ca. 90-page publication can be purchased at the French “Retromobile” fair this week at the Citroen booth, the price is 12,- Euro and surely you’d be having the chance to obtain a soon sought collectors item… (no ISBN though).
