50 Jahre Citroën Ami: Le Tour des Pays-Bas
Die Ami Vereniging Nederland (AVN) organisierte in diesem Jahr ein ganz besonderes Spektakel rund um das 50-jährige Jubiläum des Citroën Ami: das Amiversaire.
Wer sich mit der Geschichte des Citroen Ami auseinandersetzt, stößt in diesem Zusammenhang schnell auf ein historisches Ereignis: “Die Citroën Ami Tour De France”. Mitte der 60er Jahre stellte Citroën mit zwei Ami6 Break einen besonderen Rekord auf – 2077km wurden in 24 Stunden auf einer Frankreichrundfahrt zurückgelegt.
Warum sollte man so etwas nicht im Jubiläumsjahr wieder aufgreifen? Aus einer wilden Idee wurde dann Wirklichkeit: 5 Clubmitglieder stellten sich der Herausforderung, “Le Tour des Pays-Bas” durch alle niederländischen Provinzen durchzuführen.
Am Ende wurden bei dieser Rallye rund 1.100 km innerhalb von 24 Stunden gefahren. Viele Bilder wurden gemacht, und die Erlebnisse und Erinnerungen rund um diese Tour ist nun in einem Buch veröffentlicht worden.

50 Years Of Citroën Ami: Le Tour des Pays-Bas
The Dutch Ami club organised a flamboyant festival in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Citroën Ami: l’Amiversaire.
Organising an event like that requires a ‘piece de resistance’. A wild idea from a troubled mind led to the re-enactment of a historic tour: le tour des pays-bas.
This was inspired by the record run Citroën performed in the mid sixties with two Ami 6 Breaks: 2077 km in 24 hours through France during the winter.
Five brave members of the Dutch club took up the challenge to cross the Netherlands through all provinces. Departure and arrival was at the festival grounds.
The team succeeded to visit all provinces in 24 hours. They drove roughly 1100 km in this heroic journey.
Many pictures were taken and all of the team members wrote their own story. This is collected in a luxurious book available now also in English!
