“International Citroën Car Clubs Rally” erneut in Großbritannien – für 4 ganz besondere CITROËN-Tage in Yorkshire

Die 15. International Citroën Car Club Rally, das weltweit größte Event aller Citroën-Modelle, wird in diesem Jahr an vier Tagen im August im englischen Great Yorkshire Showground in der Nähe von Harrogate stattfinden. Die Rallye, die von der “Amicale Citroën Internationale” als “Event des Jahres” gewählt wurde, beginnt am Donnerstag, den 9. August, bis Sonntag, 12. August und erwartet Citroën-Fahrzeuge von 1919 bis zur Gegenwart.
Den Ursprung nahm das ICCCR im Jahr 1973 hier in Großbritannien [NB Amicale: es war 1976, das Treffen 1973 fand in Maribor/YU statt] und wurde danach an verschiedensten Orten in ganz Europa und den USA mit Enthusiasten aus der ganzen Welt veranstaltet. Die nicht-kommerzielle Veranstaltung wird von und für Liebhaber von Citroën organisiert und fand zuletzt in Großbritannien im Jahr 1984 statt.
Über 1.500 Citroën-Fahrzeuge sind bereits für die Veranstaltung 2012 bestätigt, viele internationale Besuchern sind bereits registriert. Weitere Anmeldungen werden in den kommenden Wochen erwartet.
Citroën-Fans können in einem eigens eingerichteten Museum eine umfangreiche Präsentation der klassischen Citroën-Modelle erleben, einschließlich der grössten, jemals präsentierten Sammlung der in Großbritannien gebauten Citroën sowie aussergewöhnlicher, in britischem Besitz befindlicher Citroën und Panhard. Dazu werden auch ausgewählte PKW, Transporter und Prototypen aus dem “Conservatoire Citroën”, der historischen Sammlung des Unternehmens, präsentiert werden.
Die Organisatoren des 15. ICCCR: “Wir laden jeden ein, der sich in irgendeiner Weise für Citroën interessiert, von 1919 bis zur Gegenwart, uns zu besuchen – von B2 bis hin zum Belphégor, vom 2CV bis zum DS5. Wir erwarten, dass fast jedes Citroën-Modell präsent sein wird – nicht nur PKW, sondern auch Transporter, LKW, Busse und mehr. Wenn es mit Citroën zu tun hat, wird das Fahrzeug da sein.”
Das weitläufige Veranstaltungsgelände wird auch Clubpräsentationen, historische Ausstellungen und Modellreihen beherbergen. Ein Concours d’Elegance, Ausfahrten und technische Wettbewerbe werden stattfinden. Der ICCCR-2012-Shop bietet schon jetzt eine Auswahl von Souvenirs und Kleidung an.
Darüber hinaus ergänzen umfangreiche Verkaufsstände, Teile- und Automarkt das Programm.
Neben den klassischen Citroën-Fahrzeuge wird ein umfangreiches Rahmenprogramm für die ganze Familie angeboten werden. Dazu gehören Helikopter-Rundflüge, Feuerwerk, Live-Musik, eine Busverbindung mit klassischen englischen Doppeldecker-Bussen nach Harrogate, unzählige Aktivitäten für Kinder, sowie eine große Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken – und natürlich vieles mehr.
Das ICCCR 2012 wird unterstützt durch Citroën Frankreich und Citroën Großbritannien, dem Citroën-Vertragshändler vor Ort David Fox, Total Lubricants, der Stadtverwaltung von Harrogate Harrogate und der Touristeninformation.
Das “Great Yorkshire Showground” ist das größte zusammenhängende Ausstellungsgelände in Großbritannien innerhalb einer Grundstücksfläche von über 250 Hektar am Rande von Harrogate.
Die Besucher des ICCCR 2012 können Eintrittskarten für einzelne oder alle 4 Tage kaufen, Camping ist im Paketpreis für alle Tage inklusive.

INTERNATIONAL CITROËN CAR CLUBS RALLY RETURNS TO THE UK FOR A 4-DAY CITROËN EXTRAVAGANZA IN YORKSHIRE
- 15th International Citroën Car Clubs Rally (ICCCR), the world’s largest all-model Citroën event, is being held from 9 – 12 August 2012 at the Great Yorkshire Showground near Harrogate
- Largest ever gathering of Citroën vehicles in the UK with enthusiasts attending from all over the world
- Models on show from 1919 to the present day
- First time the ICCCR is being held in the UK since 1984
The 15th International Citroën Car Clubs Rally, the world’s largest all-model Citroën event, will be held in the UK this year over four days in August at the Great Yorkshire Showground near Harrogate. The rally, which has been chosen by Amicale Citroën Internationale as their ‘Event of the Year’, runs from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 August and welcomes Citroën vehicles from 1919 to the present day.
Originating here in Britain in 1973 [NB Amicale: the first was held 1973 in Maribor/YU, the first ICCCR in UK was 1976], the ICCCR has since taken place all over Europe and the US, attracting enthusiasts from around the globe. The not-for-profit event is organised by and for enthusiasts of Citroën and was last held in the UK in 1984.
Over 1,500 Citroën vehicles have already been confirmed for the 2012 event, with international visitors strongly represented. Many more entries are expected in the coming weeks.
Citroën fans will be able to see an extensive line-up of classic Citroën models, including the most comprehensive themed display ever of British-built Citroëns and unusual British-owned Citroëns and Panhards. There will also be a selection of cars, vans and prototypes from the Conservatoire – Citroën’s private museum collection.
The organisers of the 15th ICCCR commented; “We invite everyone interested in any Citroën, from 1919 to the present day, to join us – from B2 to Belphégor, from 2CV to DS5. We expect just about every Citroën model to be present – not just cars, but vans, trucks, buses and beyond. If it’s to do with Citroën, it will be there.”
The arena events will include Club displays, historic and model displays, a Concours d’Elegance, driving events and technical competitions. The ICCCR 2012 shop will stock a selection of commemorative items and clothing.
There will be a wide range of trade stands, as well as an auto jumble and flea market.
In addition to all the classic Citroën vehicles, there will be plenty at the ICCCR 2012 to keep the whole family happy and entertained, including helicopter flights, a firework display, live music every evening, a free heritage bus service into Harrogate, a whole host of child-friendly activities, a wide selection of food and drink options – and much more.
ICCCR 2012 is sponsored by Citroën France and Citroën UK, with support from local dealership David Fox Citroën, Total Lubricants, the office of the Mayor of Harrogate and the Harrogate Tourist Information Centre.
The Great Yorkshire Showground is the largest country showground in the UK, with extensive permanent facilities within a site area of over 250 acres on the edge of Harrogate.
ICCCR 2012 visitors can buy tickets for individual or all four days, with camping included in the ‘whole-event’ price.
