Buch – Neuerscheinung: „Iconique Double Chevron“ – Die Geschichte eines Symbols

Der Doppelwinkel gehört seit mehr als einem Jahrhundert untrennbar zur Geschichte von Citroën. Er ziert Kühlergrills, Prospekte, Werkstätten, Händlerbetriebe und begleitet Generationen von Automobilen. Mit dem neu erschienenen Buch „Iconique Double Chevron“ widmet sich unser Freund Marc-André Biehler nun erstmals umfassend diesem außergewöhnlichen Markenzeichen.

Auf rund 250 Seiten zeichnet der Autor die Entwicklung des berühmten Doppelwinkels von seinen Ursprüngen um 1900 bis in die Gegenwart nach. Dabei wird nicht nur die gestalterische Evolution des Logos dokumentiert, sondern auch seine Verwendung auf Fahrzeugen, in der Werbung, bei Presseveröffentlichungen und im Händlernetz der Marke beleuchtet. Zahlreiche bislang unveröffentlichte Dokumente und Archivunterlagen veranschaulichen diese spannende Reise durch mehr als 125 Jahre Citroën-Geschichte.

Besondere Unterstützung erhielt das Projekt durch Sammler und die Archive von Terre Blanche. Die Vorrede stammt von Xavier Chardon, Generaldirektor von Automobiles Citroën, während Pierre Leclercq, Design Director von Citroën, in einem eigenen Kapitel Einblicke in die Entstehung des aktuellen Markenlogos gibt.

Das Buch erscheint zweisprachig in Französisch und Englisch und enthält mehr als 400 Citroën-Dokumente und Abbildungen. Herausgegeben wurde es von der Vereinigung MaBiblioCitro, Mitglied der Amicale des Clubs Citroën & DS France.

New Publication: “Iconique Double Chevron” – The Story of an Icon

For more than a century, the Double Chevron has been inseparably linked with the history of Citroën. It has adorned radiators, dealerships, brochures and advertising campaigns, becoming one of the most recognizable symbols in the automotive world. With the newly published book “Iconique Double Chevron”, our friend Marc-André Biehler presents the first comprehensive study dedicated entirely to this remarkable emblem.

Across approximately 250 pages, the author traces the evolution of the famous Double Chevron from its origins around 1900 through to the present day. The book explores not only the visual development of the logo, but also its application on vehicles, dealership facilities, advertising material and press publications. Numerous previously unpublished documents and archive materials illustrate more than 125 years of Citroën history.

The project was supported by collectors and the Terre Blanche archives. The foreword has been written by Xavier Chardon, CEO of Automobiles Citroën, while Pierre Leclercq, Citroën’s Design Director, provides unique insights into the development of the current brand identity in a dedicated chapter. 

Published in a bilingual French-English edition, the book contains more than 400 Citroën documents and illustrations. It has been produced by the association MaBiblioCitro, a member of the Amicale des Clubs Citroën & DS France.

Parution du livre « Iconique Double Chevron » – L’histoire d’un symbole Citroën

Depuis plus d’un siècle, le Double Chevron accompagne l’histoire de Citroën. Présent sur les automobiles, les points de vente, les publicités et la communication de la marque, il constitue l’un des symboles les plus emblématiques de l’automobile française. Avec son nouvel ouvrage « Iconique Double Chevron », notre ami Marc-André Biehler consacre pour la première fois une étude complète à cette icône. 

Au fil de ses 250 pages, l’auteur retrace l’évolution du célèbre emblème depuis ses origines au début du XXe siècle jusqu’à nos jours. L’ouvrage présente l’évolution graphique du logo ainsi que ses nombreuses applications sur les véhicules, dans le réseau commercial, dans les brochures publicitaires et les documents de communication de la marque. Plus de 125 années d’histoire sont ainsi illustrées par de nombreux documents rares et souvent inédits.

Cette remarquable chronologie a été rendue possible grâce à la contribution de plusieurs collectionneurs ainsi qu’aux Archives de Terre Blanche. La préface est signée par Xavier Chardon, Directeur Général d’Automobiles Citroën, tandis que Pierre Leclercq, Directeur du Design Citroën, présente dans un chapitre dédié la genèse du logo actuel.
