Direktor PSA Excellence System

Sign the Online Petition to Preserve the Hydropeumatic!

As some may have gathered from the rumors in recent weeks and months, Automobiles Citroën may plan to no longer offer the Hydropneumatic in coming generations of vehicles. For many fans and friends of the brand, who swear since years and decades to the driving comfort of the “HP” and hold their loyalty to Citroën, this rumor was perceived not postiviely at all – we have seen a lot of shocked faces and heard appropriate comments in the last months during talking to national and international Citroën enthusiasts, next to statements that the loyalty might be endangered also for new car purchases when the “brand of sympathy” might just become exchangable to any other marque.

An online petition has now been launched by international fans of the brand – we have received the french information via “Citroenet”, world’s leading enthusiast Citroën repository from England – and has already found a four-digit number of signatories.

We also ask you, your clubs and your club members to express your solidarity.

The petition can be found here:

For those of you who do not speak the Language of Angels, here is a rough translation, we got this text from Julian Marsh, editor and owner of the famous www.citroenet.org.uk website, who also provided us with the translation:

Attention :
Mr. Denis Duchesne
Director PSA Excellence System

Petition against the ending of the PSA Citroën hydropneumatic system

With the creation by Citroën of the DS of 1955 (the petition creator has forgotten the 15CV H but his intentions are good so…), the hydropneumatic system revolutionised comfort, grip, ride and vehicle safety . It was so obviously a superior system from the outset, compared to all competing cars’ suspension systems. And with the addition of electronics, such as in the C6, we achieved a quality never before seen in wheel/road surface communication.

And it is at this moment in history that the Directorate of PSA has decided to end this wonderful invention that has made Citroën known worldwide and given the company its legendary reputation!

How can you erase 60 years of original art creation, which made Citroën “manufacturer of the century”?

At this point, can the demands of financial and stock requirements which are manifestations of the perversity of the economy, supplant human intelligence and genius?

How can you make such an unacceptable decision to regress given that the marque has surpassed the competition with its spectacular innovations in road safety? (According to insurance statistics, Citroën is the marque least involved in accidents).

It would be a shame if the leaders of PSA were to forget that Citroën is the only manufacturer who managed to give the various components of vehicles (suspension, braking, steering, lighting, etc. ) intelligent cybernetic behaviour systems.

And how dare you leave in disarray all owners of Citroën hydropneumatic cars – from the DS 19 to the C6; cars which have marked the history of the automobile by their avant-garde qualities?

What will current Citroën owners do when they need to replace their current hydropneumatic vehicle, knowing that they no longer have the choice of metal springs of (an anachronism from the time of the ark)? This is a betrayal; an insult to the innovative engineers and designers of this technology; and a denial of scientific progress.

In addition, this decision is a strategic mistake, for, without this hydropneumatic system, Citroën models will lose their specific character and will just fall in line with their many competitors, becoming no different from all the others!

Many customers will leave the brand out of spite. Why continue to buy Citroën since nothing fundamental will distinguish this manufacturer any longer!

Do not erase this long and distinguished intellectual and industrial adventure of hydrotech and reconsider this absurd and desperate decision.

Personally take the time to study and objectively compare the qualities (especially ride comfort and handling) that Citroën models offer.

The hydropneumatic system must actually qualify for the best invention in automotive history and the fruit of genius and passion should not disappear!

Monsieur Denis DUCHESNE
Directeur PSA Excellence System,

Das Erlebnis DS World Paris

The Amicale Citroën Deutschland congratulates CITROËN for the realization of this unique and inspiring project and hopes that it will materialize also at other places around the globe!

DS WORLD PARIS, THE SOUL OF THE DS LINE

CITROËN is opening a new showcase dedicated exclusively to the DS world, the DS World Paris, on 27 November 2013. Located at 33 rue François 1er in the middle of the city’s famed “Golden Triangle” (delimited by the Champs-Elysées, George V and Montaigne avenues), the DS World Paris is a venue for sales, shows and history – with the spotlight firmly on DS line models – and a place for experience, emotion, open to artists.

CITROËN’s DS line is inspired by the finest in French-style luxury. To express its character, the DS line needed an emblematic showcase in the city that saw the birth of the legendary DS. The result is the DS World Paris. Behind a listed Art Deco façade lie three “levels of experience” highlighting DS models, talent and heritage. The DS World Paris immerses visitors in the DS universe, where the emphasis is on creation, as seen in a bold roster of artistic and cultural events.

1969-citroen-ds-champs-elysees-chassis-no-1000000

With the DS line showcase – the only venue of its kind in Europe – the Brand has yet another asset for attracting the public. It is also a point of sale, aimed at winning over new customers by bringing them exclusive and personalised services and by showing them the most beautiful vehicles in the line, including the CITROËN DS3 DS World Paris, a limited edition model produced in just 15 units. A true international flagship, the DS World Paris is the second DS-dedicated venue, joining the DS World in Shanghai that opened in March 2013.

The DS line story is about success, conquest and growth. In an impressive global achievement, CITROËN has sold over 400,000 DS line models since launch in 2010. With the DS World Paris, the Brand is pursuing its singular destiny in the automotive industry, having successfully launched a line of distinctive products with bold choices on styling, architecture, sensations and refinement.

Knowledgeable fans, passionate visitors and customers are all welcome.

DS WORLD PARIS, SHOWCASING THE DS UNIVERSE

The DS World Paris is a place for inspiration, where visitors can find out all about the design of the DS line, a subtle blend of avant-garde and heritage that has risen to prominence around the world since its creation.

From the legendary 1955 DS to recent models and radical concept cars, the DS World Paris brings the past and the future together.

In the beginning was the DS…

DS fame began with the CITROËN DS, launched in October 1955 at the Paris Motor Show held in the Grand Palais. The new model’s design and technologies quite simply turned the automotive sector on its head. The heritage of the DS line is spotlighted on the first level of the DS World Paris, where visitors get to learn more about the saga of the CITROËN DS. The model on show for the opening is one of the very first in the prestigious line: a 1956 CITROËN DS19.

ds-world-paris-03

The CITROËN DS adventure continues

The DS saga continues today with the CITROËN DS3, DS3 CABRIO, DS4 and DS5, the models that make up the DS line and continue to uphold the Brand’s “Parisian” values and know-how. The DS line is unfailingly informed by the same culture of French-style luxury.

The most beautiful models in the DS line will be exhibited throughout the year. For the opening, the limited edition CITROËN DS3 World Paris is on display, alongside the youngest member in the line-up, the CITROËN DS3 Cabrio.

Starring on the lower level are the CITROËN DS4 and DS5, both featuring “Faubourg Addict” body trim that artfully stages the DS logo.

The future of the line is suggested by concept cars, with Wild Rubis the inaugural example.

Wild Rubis, a concentrate of DS styling

The Wild Rubis concept car previews the future SUV model in the DS line with a subtle blend of refinement and power. Powered by full-hybrid plug-in technology, it stands as a concentrate of DS styling, wild and sophisticated down to the last detail, from the mobile lighting modules that activate on ignition to the wheels and tail lights graced by the DS logo and the rear end with its sculptural design.

The CITROËN DS3 DS World Paris, a jewel of elegance and object of desire

citroen-ds3-ds-world-paris-01

“The CITROËN DS3 DS World Paris was designed exclusively to celebrate the DS World Paris,” says DS styling head Thierry Metroz. Produced in just 15 units and sold only at the DS World Paris, the limited-edition model targets the biggest collectors with a passion for the DS line.

Inspired by Art Deco architecture and reflecting French artisanal expertise, the CITROËN DS3 DS World Paris is a jewel of Parisian elegance. The exclusive model is cloaked in matte ash grey body paint and Trinitario brown of the roof and wing mirror shells. The colours were created specially for the new model.

Refinement dominates inside in the shape of prestige materials. The seats, dashboard insert, gear stick handle and central armrest are upholstered in Trinitario brown Nappa leather with beige overstitching developed by the Brand’s craftsmen-upholsterers. The numbered DS World Paris badge, made in oak and inlaid on the dashboard insert, makes each model unique. The original wood touch also features on the door panels.

The CITROËN DS3 DS World Paris is available with a 120 bhp petrol engine (VTi 120) and an automatic gearbox.

Exclusive and personalised services

At the DS WORLD PARIS, customers get tailored advice and special, all-new services including home deliveries of new vehicles across the Ile-de-France region and “jockey” vehicle pick-ups for servicing operations. All DS customers benefit from a free one-year concierge service and invitations to headlining events through the CITROËN DS Privilege club. Customers can enjoy chauffeured tours of Paris in an original CITROËN DS23 or rent the legendary car themselves.

A boutique showcasing the DS lifestyle

The DS World Paris boutique proposes a collection of objects informed by heritage, refinement and daring – the key qualities of the DS line.

ds-sac

DS Lifestyle products are sensual and refined, with an audacious style that is classic and contemporary in equal parts. Products include a wallet, a special wallet for vehicle registration papers, a phone case and a key ring, all of which will slip perfectly into “DS Addicts” bags. Reflecting DS styling and available in limited editions and permanent collections, each creation is inspired by French-style luxury culture, with top-quality materials and fit and finish of the very highest standards.

For the opening of the DS World Paris, CITROËN is launching the first product in its DS Lifestyle luggage line, the “DS 48H” weekend bag, available in a limited edition and in an exclusive avant-premiere at the DS World Paris. Its sophisticated lines and elegant finish blend haute couture and design. A partner in adventure, the bag is made from French-origin full-grain calf leather of outstanding quality, crafted by Tanneries Roux, and assembled by France’s renowned Renouard leatherworks. The smooth leather is enhanced in parts with embossed leather featuring a
delicately drawn DS logo in relief.

DS WORLD PARIS: THE EXPERIENCE
Stepping into the DS World Paris

“The DS World Paris focuses squarely on the very essence of DS, a distinctive take on luxury à la française. Every detail and every space was fully thought through and designed as you would a haute couture fashion collection,” says Julien Faux, director of the DS World Paris.

ds-world-paris-04

Fronted by a listed Art Deco façade, the DS World Paris is home to a 600 square-metre space bearing the colours of the DS line – black, champagne and carmine – and designed according to the cues and values of high-end boutiques, with an emphasis on elegance, charm and purity. The DS World Paris immerses visitors in the DS universe and awakens all the senses.

Sight

The DS World Paris is an inspired setting, strong on creativity and emotion. The balance struck between colours, lighting and shapes brings a sense of serenity, a harmony that appeals to the eye with a view to enhancing the cars on show.

An astonishing, tailor-made chandelier looks down on the DS World Paris from a height of 3.8 metres. With 900 blown-glass beads hand assembled on 1,300 optic fibre filaments, it offers countless wave-like surfaces that shimmer in tune with the light.

Refinement is also the keyword with the furniture, particularly the DS Sofa, created by DS designers at the CITROËN styling centre. The DS Sofa is a one-off piece, presented at the Milan Furniture Show in March 2013, whose curves speak of flow and movement, suggesting a levitating vehicle body.

Touch

Particular care was taken in the choice of materials. The DS logo appears on the walls, whose surfaces alternate between lacquer and leather-inspired trim.

One wall is used to display the leathers and upholstery tools used for DS line models, perfectly conveying the knowhow of CITROËN’s craftsmen-upholsterers.

Smell

DS World Paris is also home to a special fragrance that subtly accompanies visitors as they come through the door at 33 rue François 1er. Scentys, a fragrance diffusion expert, worked with renowned perfumer Antoine Lie to create an exceptional fragrance that distils the DS spirit. The result is a consummate alchemy of ginger, cardamom, iris powder and clear musks blended with a base of Chinese cedar and Haitian vetiver.

The DS World Paris fragrance evokes history and elegance, making up the venue’s olfactory identity. It is also available in candle form in the DS World Paris boutique.

Hearing

The elegant musical signature developed by the Sixième Son music design agency for the DS World Paris is called “Cousu Mots”, or “Word-Stitching”. The DS sound is one “you can touch”, a bounteous mix ranging from jazz to timeless classical pieces, possessing a sense of tangibility – a knowing blend of electro and experimental – and creating a free-feeling lounge atmosphere.

The soundtrack also features transitions, sound effects and interviews with celebrities and talented individuals at CITROËN. Listeners can have fun trying to put the voice to the face of the people starring in CITROËN DS ads.

A cultural and artistic space open to creativity

“In our approach to personalisation, we wanted the DS World Paris to be on the cutting edge of the avant-garde, in tune with creative communities and breakthrough artistic experiences. We will choose and create events that echo our world and surprise visitors with a convincing blend of daring and know-how,” says Julien Faux.

To celebrate the inauguration, the DS World Paris is featuring a performance by visual artist Philippe Baudelocque, gastronomic creations from starred chef Mathieu Pacard, and a set by musician Thomas Dutronc.

Throughout 2014, the DS World Paris will host a range of artistic and cultural happenings ranging from fashion and gastronomy to art and design.

Watch this space…

LE DS WORLD PARIS, L’EXPÉRIENCE DS WORLD PARIS

A suivre…

Bild 1 köln Poll(English below) Mit Jakob Euler ist vor Kurzem der letzte Mitarbeiter des CITROËN Werkes Köln-Poll verstorben. Jakob Euler wurde am 30. Dezember 1912 geboren.

40 Years of Citroën GS Birotor

Citroën Deutschland GmbH has released a press information today:

“…40 years ago, in the fall of 1973, Citroën unveiled at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, the Citroën GS with two rotors. The two-rotor Wankel engine offered in comparison to the conventional engine of the Citroën GS an outstanding modesty and allowed a completely new driving experience.

The perfectly balanced rotary engine with two rotors had no vibrations, hence its noise level up to the highest speed ranges was extremely low. The water-cooled two-rotor Wankel engine was comparatively simply structured with eight main elements: In addition to two trachoides and an intermediate portion for separating the two trachoides, the two rotors had two side panels front and rear, two circular pistons, also called the rotor, and the motor shaft with two eccentrics.

The four-stroke system worked without valves, springs, rockers, rods or camshafts. In the first cycle, the fuel-air mixture penetrated through the intake. The piston locked in the second cycle, the inlet opening and thus the compressed mixture. The sparks generated by the spark ignited the fuel-air mixture in the moment in which the compaction pressure was maximum. The offset in the third expansion stroke the piston in rotation and provided thanks to the force applied to the piston surface pressure forces the necessary operating power. The fourth and final stroke, the piston released the outlet so that the burned gases could flow out.

The production of the two-rotor Wankel engine Type 624 is based on a cooperation with the company comotor SA, a joint venture between Citroën and NSU. Between March 1974 and March 1975 a total of just 847 Citroën GS with two rotors were produced at the engine plant in Altfortweiler on the Saar.

A changed market situation made for the early end of the Birotors: Due to the energy crisis of the mid 1970s, the planned for Germany selling the Citroën GS with two rotors for the price of 14,500 Deutsche Mark was stopped before the launch because the engine at an average consumption of around 14 l/100 km were given no good market opportunities.

In the footsteps of Prince Kamal El Din Hussain’s Citroën Kegresse Autochenille expedition 1923-1926

This is a historic event taking place from the 14th to 26th of March 2014, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism.

The expedition’s aim is to commemorate the anniversary of the memorial plaque of Prince Kamal El Din Hussein who discovered the Gilf Kebir Plateau in the Western Desert of Egypt in 1925. The Prince was also the first to introduce the automobile into deep desert explorations, in that part of the world. Massive camel caravans of up to 500 animals were carrying his fuel supply as the logistical backbone of his ventures. He was the one who located and named the Gilf Kebir Plateau, in the South West corner of Egypt.

A memorial plaque was laid down by Count Lászlo Almásy. This plaque was placed in honour of the Prince at the southern tip of the Gilf Kebir Plateau in 1933 after his death. The Prince was the first to introduce the automobile into deep desert explorations.

In the Hollywood film “The English Patient” (winner of nine Oscars in1996), the main character was transporting Prince Kamal El Din’s plaque to the Gilf Kebir Plateau in 1933. So now we will be following the footsteps of those great explorers. Well-known national and international scientists will take part (as SPEAKERS) in this expedition and will present intriguing lectures on relevant topics.

The organizers are seeking to invite as many Citroen Kegresse owners as possible to be part of this one in a life time deep desert expedition, to come with there half-track Citroens and re-live an adventure that took place 90 years ago in the Egyptian Sahara Deserts.

More info could be found on
www.kamalexpedition.com

The Amicale Citroën Deutschland thanks Mahmoud Ezzeldin from Vintage Wheels Egypt for his invitation and welcomes all Citroën Kegresse owners and drivers to get into contact with the organizers – and of course wishes all participants good luck for this outstanding and unique event!

in Brooklyn New York, the last traces of Citroën vanish

“Do you remember, Citroën? They built cars that drove on three wheels.” The eyes of the Chinese warehouse manager glow. As if he guards for years as a little secret this information.

It is Friday morning at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 7th Street in Brooklyn, the Gowanus neighborhood. The color is washed out. But we can still see traces of white letters on the front of the enormous warehouse, the name “Citroen” flanked by the two “double-chevrons”, the legendary brand logo. Now the storage area is filled with sofas, tables and other furniture, but in the 1960s and 1970s there was a warehouse, a repair shop and distribution of the French car manufacturer. Inside the building there are some signs that remained from that era. Starting with the steel girders to be used to transport the chassis and engines via trolleys and overhead cranes. “And then there was a huge underground oil tank, we had to fill with cement,” said Steven Cheu Ngai, head of the furniture import-export company sitting in the premises since 1991.

Carter Willey, a former employee of a Citroen car dealership in the Bronx in the 60s, went to this site “about three or four times” per year. He was looking for parts or whole cars for the customers. “There were many people who worked here,” he recalls. “In this camp, the central coordination of imports of parts of New York and the entire East Coast was settled.”

In the United States Citroën began marketing its legendary model “Traction Avant” from 1938 onwards. Then the legendary DS, 2CV and Ami6 were sold here (among other models). According to Citroën France, more than 7,000 cars were sold on U.S. ground between 1970 and 1976. “Brooklyn is the most populous area of New York, thus it was an important market for Citroën. Like Manhattan”, where the company had its headquarters on the East Coast (the headquarters for activities on the West Coast was located in Los Angeles). “And there was a showroom at 300 Park Avenue,” said Howie Seligman, the founder of Citroën New York and Vélosolex club and one of the “Citroënists” of the first hour.

The demand was low, there were problems in the production, the distribution network was not sufficiently expanded, the national laws too restrictive: 1977 Citroën stopped their activities in the United States. “…For Americans, Citroën’s reputation was worth less than a Jaguar, but more than a Rolls Royce. It was too exclusive for market, the sales figures could never really get in the black,” says Howie Seligmann, and Carter Willey adds: “One should Look at the definition of “Franko phobia” in Wikipedia to explain the failure of Citroën in the United States, there were also other reasons. Citroën dealers were under-funded, its branches too small and could not sufficiently transport their enthusiasm for the French vehicles to the potential American clientele. The cars were rare and ultimately too expensive.”

The Brooklyn warehouse on Third Avenue passed into other hands. “At a manufacturer of automotive parts” believes Cheu Ngai to know. Today, he will face a second death of Citroën: the last traces of the mark on the brick facade will now disappear forever. The “Citroen” logo and the angles are covered with gray weather-resistant exterior paint to curb the threat of erosion somewhat halting. “It will be done within a week, of course, dependent on the weather,” says the owner. And when he had to apologize for the extinction of a piece of history, he adds: “We do it for the society. Area here changes very quickly, and we must maintain the building., We can not afford to replace each tile individually. If I do not, someone else will do it later.”

“It is always sad, but at the same time it also means a new beginning,” Howie Seligmann is sure. “Where Citroën has disappeared, maybe another brand comes up again. In a nutshell, this is the story of New York …”

The ICCCR 2012 Yorkshire book and DVD is ready – come to Dusseldorf to pick up one of the first ones!

Now the book and DVD memorabilia of the last year’s 2012 ICCCR is available – and Mick Popka is going to bring them to Germany next weekend! In the context of the 13th Dusseldorf French festival (“Frankreichfest” – http://www.duesseldorfer-frankreich-fest.de/ – the whole old town being a big French event, ca. 170 French cars joining a rally), Mick will bring a number of souvenirs over to you from the other side of the Channel.

For those from Belgium who did a pre-order, Mick intends to ship them this Friday in Belgium, and also the French and Dutch people will benefit from having them shipped in France on Friday and in the Netherlands the same day – Mick has his car loaded with books and DVDs for you!

2013.wanted-mick-popka-technoclassica

We’re sure that you’ll enjoy this marvellous rich book and remember the great time you spent in England – and if you haven’t been there: now it’s time to see what you have missed!

So why not come over to Dusseldorf – the city is just half an hour away from the Dutch border, one hour from the Belgium and around 1.5 hrs from the French border – certainly worth a visit (not only) this weekend. Also, the now 725-year-old city runs that weekend the “biggest fun fair on the Rhine” (http://www.duesseldorf-tourismus.de/en/our-top-events/biggest-fun-fair-on-the-rhine/).

Enjoy – and again thanks to Mick for his outstanding performance and engagement for this event!

Juli 2013, also in wenigen Tagen, wird Difty 50 Jahre “alt”.

50 Years “Difty” – Germany’s most famous 2CV celebrates anniversary

When there would be to name one Citroën 2CV to be a legendary car, it is the one of Manfred Müller, “Weltreisen-Manni” (world traveller) – a car still owned by the same guy and which had been travelling around the globe more than just once – seen all continents and almost all countries.

After more than 500.000km on the odometer, now the German “Enthusiasts” are celebrating the 50th anniversary of both – the car and it’s drivers – on July 1st, 2013 at

Germany’s biggest online journal, “Spiegel Online”, had published an article with more than 30 photos – worth a look:
http://einestages.spiegel.de/s/tb/25466/weltreise-mit-einem-citro-n-2cv.html

Also CITROËN Germany published in its corporate journal “Passion” a 5-page article on this unique car and it’s owner, and their joint history.

So join the free party in Bremerhaven on July 1st, 2013 – and get to know the car and the driver, listen to his outstanding stories, and enjoy tons of entertainment!

I was lucky enough to get my first experience with the car and the driver during 1998 – 50 years of 2CV – in Leipzig at the “AMI Auto Motor International” exhibition. Manni had been on show at Technoclassica, too, and is well-known to the German Citroen community.

CITROËN continues the Méhari’s 45th birthday festivities at the Linas-Montlhéry autodrome.

CITROËN is partnering the fifth Autodrome Héritage Festival on 8 and 9 June. The event, drawing fans of legendary cars and motorbikes to the famous Linas-Montlhéry track, is the perfect opportunity for the Brand to continue celebrating the Méhari’s 45th birthday, and for the “Amicale” CITROËN France federation to celebrate its 30th birthday.

Having partnered the Autodrome Héritage Festival since 2009, CITROËN is taking advantage of this year’s event to bring together Brand collectors and fans, including the Méhari-mad members of Méhari Club de France. At the legendary venue, CITROËN is presenting a model that this year celebrates its 45th birthday: the Méhari.

The classic vehicle will be on show in several forms, including a 4×4 model used for medical assistance at the 1980 Paris-Dakar rally, a 1979 Méhari, and a 4×4 chassis. Throughout the weekend, visitors will celebrate the spirit of freedom that continues to inform the Méhari today.

The event is also a major occasion for the “Amicale” federation of CITROËN France clubs, which this year celebrates its 30th birthday. In permanent contact with the Brand, the “Amicale CITROËN” federation unites, coordinates and supports 45 CITROËN clubs across France, totalling over 9,000 members.

Amicale CITROËN will be exhibiting a number of emblematic Brand models at the meet, including the Traction, Type H, 2CV, DS, CX and SM. And some of them will even be taking a spin out on the track, as part of parades organised all weekend long. The “cabriolet” parade will be sponsored by CITROËN in a nod to the recently launched DS3 Cabrio, also present at the event.

        • JHV national
        • Event Of The Year

1.       Cooperation with Citroën Deutschland GmbH / Automobiles Citroën internationally

a.       Contract with Citroën Deutschland
on behalf of the German clubs, we managed to define and officially sign a contract with Citroën which holds many tangible benefits for the clubs, financially, domain names, early access to stock dissolutions, assets, merchandise shop etc.

This can be seen as a historic landmark and we have so far not found any similar contractually agreed cooperation between any other Citroën or French brand partnership between the manufacturer and their enthusiasts.

b.      “Citroën Loves Köln”
a campaign to support the continuation of Citroën business in this town (due to the migration of Peugeot and Citroën headquarters the question was where the new HQ location would be)
We were happy to see that our logo “Citroën loves Köln” was being picked up by the Cologne workers and even buttons were created by the works council and distributed in 100s to the national employees.
Citroën (and now also Peugeot) HQ remains in Cologne, and we were happy to have contributed our part to secure the work places of those people we daily work with.

                                                               i.      In Germany we were facing issues that some sellers on ebay and other portals are selling copies and re-productions of Citroën repair guides, manuals etc. – a lawsuit being initiated by the legal department. In order to mitigate that risk for our clubs and members, we needed to find a solution here.

ii.      Within our frame contract with Citroën, we managed to settle an authorization for clubs giving access to members of electronic versions of Citroën manuals, repair guides only – provided there is a DRM in place and material is not re-distributed externally, and solely for non-commercial, private use.

e.      Cooperation with TOTAL Deutschland
first time ever, we had TOTAL representative being a guest speaker at the AGM, and presenting which TOTAL oils and grease which is available on the market today, is suitable for vintage Citroën. The presentation had been highly appreciated by the clubs.
Next to this, we’re currently negotiating on how clubs and members can get access to TOTAL’s website, to order products and services – next to a discount to be negotiated.

3.     Other Activities

a.       German translation of the Heuliez heritage auction

2.       provisioning of a dedicated media server for the exchange of multimedia files with Citroën and their media agency

3.       within 2012-2013, ca 100 server updates needed to be supplied. Support demand in total ca. 50-60 man hrs, also due to the fact that WordPress hacking is now a sports and a well-thought object for triggering DDoS attacks to other sites (so far, we were lucky and did not get hacked yet)

ii.      more than 80 articles have been published in the last 12 months, mostly in 3 languages (German, English, French) – counting more than 250 articles in total.

f.        Communications

                                                               i.      ca. 2.955 emails were exchanged in the last 12 months, plus 180 for Drive-It-Day, plus 593 emails around TC 2012. Additional 400 emails in other subjects

ii.      a proof for the close and fruitful cooperation with Citroën is that more than 260 emails have been exchanged between the parties in the last year.

As some of the people in this distribution list have doubted that the works we’re doing in Germany, are supporting the idea of the Amicale, and also are working against Citroën, I think we have proven the opposite is the case.

Hope to see some of you throughout the year!

Best Regards from Germany

(English below, Francais au-dessous)

Citroën comics live at Citroën-Strasse Techno Classica 2013

Those of you who grew up with cars have certainly enjoyed reading comics related to the saga of Michel Vaillant and others – the famous race drivers who made their championships and adventures mostly in your heads – will they ever win and succeed?

Not it’s time to make these memories alive. And the “Citroën-Strasse”, the booth of all German Citroen and Panhard car clubs at Techno Classica 2013, world’s largest vintage car show, will make it possible:

We were happy to be able to get the famous comic artist Olivier Marin – responsible for the Margot comics – to be not only a visitor to our booth from Thursday to Saturday (11-13 April 2013) but he will also bring his tool and create comics for you in the books!

So bring a picture of your hero car – or your own – and let him create his view onto your memories and dreams. Pass by at our booth in Hall 9.1 and get to see and own the stunning drawings!

Above find some of the comics which will be on show – some of them also in French language.

Enjoy!
