Unter dem Sonderthema “Citroen” steht in diesem Jahr der 29. Oldtimertag im holländischen Aalphen aan den Rijn, mitten im grünen Herz von Holland, zwischen Amsterdam, Utrecht und Den Haag. Zum 17. September 2011 werden Besitzer von historischen Automobilen, Traktoren, Motorrädern herzlich Willkommen geheissen.
Dieses Ereignis zieht jährlich viele tausend Besucher aus ganz Europa an. Ebenso wie in den letzten beiden Jahren rechnen die Veranstalter auch dieses Jahr mit mehr als 30.000 Besucher. Neben der Oldtimer-Show sind alle Laden in Alphen aan den Rijn geöffnet, gibt es gemütliche Ausstellungsstände, Terrassen und Aufführungen von Tanzgruppen und Musikanten. Auch gibt es einen Markt in der Stadtmitte, direkt neben den Fahrzeugen.
Für die Teilnehmer wird zum Preis von 15,- Euro pro Auto + Fahrer und 7,50 Euro für Passagiere ein umfangreiches Veranstaltungspaket incl. Mittagessen, Kaffee und Kuchen geboten.
Bis zu 300 Fahrzeuge werden zugelassen und nur wenige Teilnahmeplätze sind noch verfügbar.
Nach dem “Concours d’Elegance”, einer Rundfahrt in die Umgebung, werden den Oldtimer ab 10:30h aufgestellt in der Hooftstraat, mitten in Alphen, am „Oude Rijn“ Fluß entlang. Hier können die Oldtimer bis ca. 16:00 U. von dem Publikum frei besichtigt werden. Daneben gibt es auch schmuckvolle historische Schleppdampfer zu bewundern, kleine altmodische Kirmes-Attraktionen für die Kinder und kann man altes Handwerk anschauen. Mit dem historischen Schlepper können die Besucher eine kostenlose Fahrt mitmachen über den Oude Rijn.

Special focus “Citroen” on Old-timer day in Alphen/NL
The Old-timer Day has been organized annually in Alphen aan den Rijn – located centrally in the green hart of The Netherlands between Amsterdam, Utrecht and The Hague – since 1982. Held on the Saturday preceding the Annual Market Day (on the third Wednesday in September), this occasion offers nostalgic entertainment for young and old, and for participants and visitors, not only from The Netherlands but also from abroad. Every owner of an old-timer – be it a car, a tractor, a motorcycle or any two-wheeled contraption whatsoever is welcome to participate.

Everybody is invited
Each year the event attracts thousands of visitors of all ages and from all parts of the country and from all over the World. As in previous years, more than 30.000 visitors are expected. The Old-timer Day is more than just cars! All shops are open, there are stalls of all kinds, outdoor cafes and dance and music performances. The line-up is situated in the direct vicinity of the Saturday market in the centre of the city.
The programme
At 10:30 a.m., after the Concours d’Elegance – a tour through the surroundings – the old-timers are exhibited in the Hooftstraat in Alphen aan den Rijn along the Old Rhine river. The vehicles can be admired there by the public until about 4:00 p.m. (free of charge). Old-timer vehicles are not the only attraction: there are also historical tugs, small old-timer fairground attractions for children, and demonstrations of old crafts. Old-timer boats offer the public a free opportunity of cruising on the Old Rhine river.
The registration fee of 15 Euros entitles you a free cup of coffee and a piece of cake at the start, as well as a rally plate, a certificate of Participation and a packed lunch.
