ACI Amicale Citroen Internationale

ACI welcomes “L’Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS”

Further to the announcement made on July 15th, 2015, and at the end of the Ordinary and Extraordinary General Meeting of October 28th, the Association “L’Aventure Peugeot”, founded in 1982 by Pierre Peugeot, expands its areas and becomes officially “L’Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS”.

The association takes on a new dimension by grouping the heritage activity of the Group and of its Brands, shared until now by 4 entities: “L’Aventure Peugeot”, the “Conservatoire Citroën”, the CAAPY (Collection of Adventure Automobile in Poissy), and the “Fonds de Dotation Peugeot pour la mémoire de l’histoire industrielle” (Centers of archives of Hérimoncourt).

Xavier Peugeot, President of the Association, reaffirmed the importance of the heritage in the life of the brands, the pursuit of labels “L’Aventure Peugeot”, “Citroën Héritage” and “DS Collection”, the development opportunities offered by this orientation, in particular for spare parts and customer service, and its will to continue to make live the Association values.

He also underlined the long-term commitment of the Group PSA, at the highest level, with in particular the presence of 2 new members within the Executive Committee: Carlos Tavares, Chairman of the PSA Managing Board, and Xavier Chéreau, Human Resources Manager of the Group.

Effective December 1st, 2015, Marie-Thérèse Lardeur, currently Director of the Portugal Subsidiary BPF (Bank PSA Finances), is named Executive Director of the Association “L’Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS”. Her 33 years of experience within the group PSA will allow her to assure the unification and the coherence of the various entities within the Association, while still preserving the identity of each brand.

So far the official statement.

The Amicale Citroën Internationale (ACI) with its associated more than 1.000 clubs and 65.000 members in more than 33 countries welcomes the new organization and is excitedly looking forward to establish and develop a joint partnership.

We are confident that the cooperation with both the manufacturer and “L’Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS” will put the engagement and joint ambitions towards the Citroën enthusiasts, fans and friends and clubs to a new level.

Reiner Sowa meets the Amicale and Citroën club in Iran

We were happy to hear that Reiner Sowa now has arrived in Iran. A few days ago he crossed the borders, and already was welcomed in Maku by some car enthusiasts and club members. His next larger stopover then was in Tabriz – Houtan Arefi, the Iranian Delegate of the ACI, had prepared for a welcome program with members of the classic committee of the “Iranian Motorcycle and Automobile Federation” in Tabriz.

Sure it was a great occasion to connect, and of course not to miss the local Citroën Dyane and a Citroën Méhari and some other classic cars!

Reiner’s stay included a well-prepared visit of historical places in Tabriz, and also another meeting with classic cars in Tabriz had been arranged.

Good to see that the Citroën club network is very active – and again thank you to Houtan Arefi and his friends and club members for making Reiner’s stay so much welcomed!

  • Kommunikation
    • Emails: 2955 emails rund um die Amicale (1.-31.12.2012), plus 180 emails zum Drive-It-Day 2012, sowie weitere 593 emails zur TC 2012. Weitere 400 emails in anderen Themen.

Attached please find the annual activity report of Amicale Citroën Deutschland, valid for the period from last year’s AGM to this year’s AGM (April 2012 – April 2013).

1.       Cooperation with Citroën Deutschland GmbH / Automobiles Citroën internationally

a.       Contract with Citroën Deutschland
on behalf of the German clubs, we managed to define and officially sign a contract with Citroën which holds many tangible benefits for the clubs, financially, domain names, early access to stock dissolutions, assets, merchandise shop etc.

This can be seen as a historic landmark and we have so far not found any similar contractually agreed cooperation between any other Citroën or French brand partnership between the manufacturer and their enthusiasts.

b.      “Citroën Loves Köln”
a campaign to support the continuation of Citroën business in this town (due to the migration of Peugeot and Citroën headquarters the question was where the new HQ location would be)
We were happy to see that our logo “Citroën loves Köln” was being picked up by the Cologne workers and even buttons were created by the works council and distributed in 100s to the national employees.
Citroën (and now also Peugeot) HQ remains in Cologne, and we were happy to have contributed our part to secure the work places of those people we daily work with.

first time ever, we had TOTAL representative being a guest speaker at the AGM, and presenting which TOTAL oils and grease which is available on the market today, is suitable for vintage Citroën. The presentation had been highly appreciated by the clubs.

3.       within 2012-2013, ca 100 server updates needed to be supplied. Support demand in total ca. 50-60 man hrs, also due to the fact that WordPress hacking is now a sports and a well-thought object for triggering DDoS attacks to other sites (so far, we were lucky and did not get hacked yet)

ii.      more than 80 articles have been published in the last 12 months, mostly in 3 languages (German, English, French) – counting more than 250 articles in total.

f.        Communications

                                                               i.      ca. 2.955 emails were exchanged in the last 12 months, plus 180 for Drive-It-Day, plus 593 emails around TC 2012. Additional 400 emails in other subjects

ii.      a proof for the close and fruitful cooperation with Citroën is that more than 260 emails have been exchanged between the parties in the last year.

As some of the people in this distribution list have doubted that the works we’re doing in Germany, are supporting the idea of the Amicale, and also are working against Citroën, I think we have proven the opposite is the case.

Hope to see some of you throughout the year!

Best Regards from Germany

(English below, Francais au-dessous)

Viel Spass beim Lesen!

Amicale-Statistics & New Brochure available

Dear unknown “secret friend” – let’s give a warm welcome to the 10-millionth access to our website this week! We’re very proud to have achieved this number within the timeframe from January 2010 onwards (this is when we started our statistics, the website had been alive since 2004 already so a largely higher number de facto has to be considered).

More than 230GB of data has been downloaded during this 30 month period. In average we count more than 12GB data transfer per month nowadays. Year over Year (YoY) we double the number of accesses and download volumes (excluding search engine traffic). In average, each visitor accesses 6.2 pages per visit.

This makes the Amicale Citroën Deutschland being one of the most frequented Citroën enthusiast portals in Germany and beyond.

Amicale Citroën Website Statistik

Some interesting facts:
* We’re very happy to see that most visitors are from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Netherlands.
* Interestingly, we welcome more visitors from the Russian Federation than from Belgium!
* More than 20 Percent of all visitors spend more than 2 minutes on our portal.
* 5 percent of all visitors are using mobile devices already, Android as double as much as iPhone / iPad users.

And – something that Citroën should be aware of: 22% of keyphrases being searched are….. around the “DS3” model! This means many people associate the Amicale with information about modern cars, and not vintage cars only. This underlines our position, that with support by the clubs, their members as well as the Amicale as “brand ambassadors”, the marque positively benefits from this perception.

Within the last 15 months, more than 1.500 subscribers from 31 countries have registered for receiving the Amicale newsletter, amongst them the ACI Delegates as well as many journalists and media representatives from Germany and abroad. They have received around 250 articles and blog posts published on the website so far.

Help spreading the word to your buddies in case you like this site. Thank you all for your support!

Oh, and by the way: our new Amicale Citroën Deutschland brochure is now available for download – German spoken only though:

Enjoy reading – and understanding – German! 🙂

Herzlich Willkommen, Britta!

New Amicale Citroën Deutschland delegate: Britta Becker

On Saturday 24 March 2012 the national German ACI Annual General Meeting has taken place and Delegate elections for the new period have been executed.

As some of you might have heard, Ulrich Knaack has decided to step down from his engagement for ACI in Germany. We’d like to thank him for his long year engagement for the ACI. Ulrich had been President of ACI internationally and is one of the founding members of the organisation in 2004, next to his national engagement over many years. He will stay active in the DS club.

He is now succeeded by Britta Becker, (britta.becker (at) amicale-citroen.de) who is an active member of the Citroën enthusiasts community in Germany since many years, has organized several big meetings such as the “Enten Classic Day”, and is also working within the “Citroën-Strasse” orga team which means she also benefits from some experience in the cooperation with Citroën in Germany.

We are very happy to also have a woman representing the German Citroën clubs from now on!

Please update your contact and email distribution lists accordingly.

Britta Becker joins Stephan Joest in the Amicale Citroën Deutschland team, the election of both representatives was done unanimously. Both German delegates can be reached via “info@amicale-citroen.de” as well.

Welcome, Britta!

In Germany, the Amicale Citroën Deutschland represents ca. 12.000 club members of non-profit oriented Citroën and Panhard clubs and thus is by far the biggest network of enthusiasts of any French car manufacturer.
