Nur noch wenige Tage, dann ist es soweit: die internationale Citroën-Szene trifft sich zu ihrem alle 4 Jahre stattfindenden Welttreffen in Harrogate / Yorkshire. Tausende von Anmeldungen sind bereits eingetroffen. Die Organisation rechnet mit dem weltgrößten Citroën-Event in diesem Jahr und auf englischem Boden seit der erstmaligen Veranstaltung in den 1970er Jahren.
Citroën DS, Traction und 2CV sind zahlenmäßig die Hauptakteure dieser Veranstaltung und die bekanntesten Sympathieträger der Marke. Doch auch Exoten wie der in Slough von 1959-1964 in nur 211 Exemplaren gefertigte Citroën Bijou, Halbkettenfahrzeuge (“Kegresse”), M35, Tissier-Umbauten, Citroën-Vorkriegsmodelle und neueste Baureihen, sowie mehr als zwei Dutzend Citroën Ami werden neben Dutzenden von SM, GS, Dyane, CX, BX, XM und anderen erwartet.
Die Veranstalter sind euphorisch und präsentieren ein umfangreiches Programm für Fans und Familie – Harrogate ist eine Kurstadt ähnlich zu Baden-Baden und bietet viel Abwechslung für alle diejenigen, die nicht nur Doppelwinkel und Technik-Gespräche erleben wollen.
Ab Montag dem 6. August kann die Einfahrt ins Treffengelände beginnen – der offizielle Teil des Programms startet dann am Mittwochabend den 8. August 2012.
Die Organisatoren weisen noch einmal auf die vereinfachten Einfahrts- und Anmelderegelungen hin:
“…Sie erhalten von uns keine Eintrittskarte per Post oder email, sondern eine vierstellige Reservierungsnummer (diese sollte bereits eingetroffen sein). Mit dieser Nummer können Sie bereits zum Eingang für Voranmeldungen (ausgeschildert als “Pre-Booked”) vorfahren.
Dort erwartet Sie das “Welcome-Team”, welches noch einmal ihre Buchungsnummer und ihre Anmeldedaten verifiziert.
Falls Sie Ihre Buchungsnummer nicht dabei haben, geben Sie bitte den bei der Reservierung hinterlegten Nachnamen sowie Ihre Adressdaten an. Sollte auch das fehlschlagen, wird anhand des Autokennzeichens Ihre Buchung überprüft (sind Sie wiederum mit einem anderen Auto als dem der Anmeldung unterwegs, geben Sie bitte das bei der Anmeldung angegebene Autokennzeichen an).
Sie erhalten dann die Parkausweise und Eintrittskarten für Auto und Teilnehmer.
Falls Sie weitere Passagiere mitbringen, die über 16 Jahre alt sind, können Sie weitere Eintrittskarten an einem separaten Schalter in unmittelbarer Nähe erwerben…”
Die Veranstalter sind vorbereitet, größere gleichzeitig anreisende Besuchermengen schnellstmöglich abfertigen zu können, um längere Rückstaus bei der Ankunft wie nur irgendmöglich abzuwenden – man hat aus den Fehlern der vergangenen Großveranstaltungen gelernt…
Noch sind Fähren günstig zu bekommen. DFDS Ferries bietet noch Tickets für Hin- und Rückfahrt von Dünkirchen nach Dover zu Preisen unter 100 Euro an.

Latest News from “Citroën Mecca” Harrogate ICCCR 2012
Only a few more days, then it’s time to join *the* most important event for “Doublechevron” lovers: the international Citroën scene meets every 4 years to their world meeting, this time held in Harrogate / Yorkshire from August 9-12th 2012. Thousands of applications have already been settled. The organization expects the world’s largest Citroën event this year and on English soil since the first event in the 1970s.
Citroën DS, 2CV, Traction and are numerically the main actors of this event and the best-known popular models of the brand. As of Monday the 6th August early visitors can begin the descent into the meeting area – the official part of the program will then start on Wednesday evening on the 8th August 2012.
The organizers have once again pointed to the simplified entrance and registration rules:
“…We have simplified the entry process when you arrive.
We will not be sending you a ticket, instead we will be reminding you of the four digit Booking Reference Number that is unique to your order for tickets. When you arrive at the event for the first time, follow the signs to the “pre-Booked” entrance.
You will be met by one of the “ICCCR Welcome team” who will ask you for your booking reference number.
They will then authenticate your booking details to the people in your party.
if you don’t know your Booking reference Number, just tell them either your Surname and the Town that you lived in when you booked your tickets. Failing that they will identify you by the registration number on your vehicle (if you have changed the vehicle from the one that you booked and not advised us then give them the original vehicle registration you booked with.
You will then be issued with security vehicle badge(s) and wristbands.
If there are any additional passengers older than 16 years you will be directed to a separate kiosk where you can add and pay for your additional passengers…”
So – get your cars and tents ready: time to meet at Harrogate and celebrate a few days of Citroenism and Enthusiasm amongst friends and family – “let’s get ready to rumbleeeeeeeeeeeee!”
