The English language CX book
The CX book by Citrovisie first appeared in Dutch in 2014 and has been reprinted four times. There is also a French translation that has been reprinted twice. Over the years, the CX book has become the standard work in the CX field. However, the call for an English version remained so strong that author Michael Buurma and publisher Thijs van der Zanden joined forces with translator and Citroën expert Julian Marsh. The result of this project is almost ready now and can be ordered from December on www.citrovisie.nl.

About the book
In an almost encyclopaedic manner, and with great attention to detail, the creation and evolution of the Citroën CX is discussed by model year, by type and down to the smallest detail. This also includes the models that never got beyond the drawing board: a five-door CX, numerous never realised interior designs, a CX GTi with a diesel engine and an extended CX Pallas, to name but a few… Overviews with technical data, chassis numbers, body colours plus sales figures complete the picture. The book is amply illustrated with hundreds of images, most of which have never been published before. This makes this book an indispensable reference for the real Citroën lover.

Two versions
The book is available in a standard version of € 44.95 and a limited Prestige Edition of € 59.95. The latter has a different cover, a more luxurious finish and is signed by the author. The Prestige Edition is intended for the real collector and is printed in an edition of only 100 hand numbered copies.

Das CX-Buch in englischer Sprache
Das CX-Buch von Citrovisie erschien erstmals 2014 auf Niederländisch und wurde bereits viermal nachgedruckt. Es gibt auch eine französische Übersetzung, die zweimal neu aufgelegt wurde. Im Laufe der Jahre hat sich das CX-Buch zum Standardwerk im CX-Bereich entwickelt. Der Ruf nach einer englischen Version blieb jedoch so stark, dass sich der Autor Michael Buurma und der Verleger Thijs van der Zanden mit dem Übersetzer und Citroën-Experten Julian Marsh zusammentaten. Das Ergebnis dieses Projekts ist nun fast fertig und kann ab Dezember auf www.citrovisie.nl bestellt werden.

Über das Buch
In fast enzyklopädischer Weise und mit viel Liebe zum Detail wird die Entstehung und Entwicklung des Citroën CX nach Modelljahren, Typen und bis ins kleinste Detail behandelt. Dazu gehören auch die Modelle, die nie über das Reißbrett hinausgekommen sind: ein fünftüriger CX, zahlreiche nie realisierte Innenraumkonzepte, ein CX GTi mit Dieselmotor und ein verlängerter CX Pallas, um nur einige zu nennen… Übersichten mit technischen Daten, Fahrgestellnummern, Karosseriefarben sowie Verkaufszahlen runden das Bild ab. Letztere hat einen anderen Einband, eine luxuriösere Verarbeitung und ist vom Autor signiert. Die Prestige Edition ist für den echten Sammler bestimmt und wird in einer Auflage von nur 100 handnummerierten Exemplaren gedruckt.

The BX: with its avant-garde dashboard, streamlined design, semi-concealed rear wheels and hydropneumatic suspension was a traditional Citroën. Its razor-sharp styling, however, was a radical break with all the brand’s design traditions. The BX incorporated new, lightweight materials, was the first Citroen to be designed with computer assistance and was a huge leap forward in quality. Over the years, the introduction of variants such as an estate car, a version with automatic transmission, numerous diesel models and all kinds of sporty versions and special, limited series contributed to the continuous success, so that the BX ultimately not only helped the ailing Citroën company recover, but also went down in history as one of the most successful Citroëns ever.

Author Thijs van der Zanden describes in this book the history of the Citroën BX, from the first prototypes in the early seventies, until the last BX which rolled off the production line in 1994. Compared to Citrovisie’s first BX book, this new book has been updated with new photos and extra visual material. To meet the needs of non-Dutch-speaking readers as well, this edition has been translated into English by Citroën expert Julian Marsh.

Citroën have built many special editions based on the BX: standard models with some extra equipment and often only available in a limited number. The book about the BX also exists in such a version: the série limitée. This book has a better finish and comes in a luxurious slip case. Each copy is signed by the author.
