Am Freitag, 10. Juli 2015 präsentiert Autor Stéphane Bonutto in der Peugeot Citroën Retail Deutschland GmbH, Niederlassung Düsseldorf, das Buch „Bertoni – Ein Leben für die Form“, mit dem das Leben, Schaffen und Werk des Citroën Star-Designers Flaminio Bertoni gewürdigt wird. Das 96-seitige Werk, das von Stéphane Bonutto unlängst von der italienischen in die deutsche Sprache übersetzt wurde, wird von der „edition garage 2cv“ verlegt.

Der Automobil-Designer Flaminio Bertoni war seit 1932 über 30 Jahre lang als Designer bei Citroën tätig und prägte während dieser Zeit ganz wesentlich die Citroën Stilikonen Traction Avant (1934), 2CV (1948), DS (1955 als Limousine und 1961 als Cabriolet) sowie Ami 6 (1961). Insbesondere das stromlinienförmige Design der historischen DS versetzte die Öffentlichkeit bei der Weltpremiere der „Göttin“ auf dem Pariser Salon in Staunen. Bertoni schuf mit der historischen DS ein echtes Kunstwerk, das seine Leidenschaft für künstlerische Formen und den unbändigen Willen zur schöpferischen Gestaltung zum Ausdruck brachte.

Die Autoren Leonardo Bertoni und Stéphane Bonutto schildern in „Bertoni – Ein Leben für die Form“ wie er für Citroën unvergleichliche Automobile schuf und somit das Design des Herstellers jahrzehntelang beeinflusste: Bertonis Schaffen wirkt sogar bis heute – dies zeigen der Bekanntheitsgrad seiner Entwürfe und die Modelle der jungen französischen Premiummarke DS Automobiles. Seiner unbändigen Leidenschaft für künstlerische Formen und seinem unbedingten Willen zur schöpferischen Gestaltung war es zu verdanken, dass er für Citroën das millionenfach hergestellte Industrieprodukt Auto zum skulpturalen Kunstwerk erhob.

Buchvorstellung im Rahmen der Feierlichkeiten „60 Jahre DS“

Im Rahmen des Frankreichfestes vom 10. bis 12. Juli 2015 feiern DS Automobiles sowie die Niederlassung Düsseldorf der Peugeot Citroën Retail Deutschland GmbH in Kooperation mit dem DS Club Deutschland e.V. und Amicale Citroën & DS Deutschland das Jubiläum „60 Jahre DS“. Ein Highlight dieser Jubiläumsfeierlichkeiten ist eine Ausstellung rund um die historische DS in der Peugeot Citroën Retail Deutschland GmbH, Niederlassung Düsseldorf, am Höherweg 191. Neben der Buchpräsentation durch Autor Stéphane Bonutto wird Roland Kayser aus dem Atelier Automobile, einen Vortrag über das Leben und Werk von Flaminio Bertoni halten.

Stéphane Bonutto presents book about Citroën star designer Flaminio Bertoni in the CITROËN Düsseldorf dealership

On Friday, July 10th 2015 the author Stéphane Bonutto will present in the Peugeot Dusseldorf branch of Citroën Retail Deutschland GmbH, the dealership at Höherweg 191, the book “Bertoni – A life dediated to the shape” (a German spoken book, original title “Bertoni – Ein Leben für die Form”) which honors the life, work and achievements of the Citroën star designer Flaminio Bertoni. The 96-page book, which was recently translated by Stéphane Bonutto from Italian into German, will be published by “edition garage 2cv”.

Since 1932, the automobile designer Flaminio Bertoni was for more than 30 years active as a designer at Citroën and created during this period quite substantial style icons such as the Citroën Traction Avant (1934), 2CV (1948), DS (1955 sedan and 1961 as a convertible) and Ami6 (1961). In particular, the streamlined design of the historic DS hit the public at the World Premiere of the “Goddess” at the Paris Automobile Salon in amazement. Bertoni created with the historical DS a real work of art that expressed his passion for artistic forms and the irrepressible desire for creative design.

The authors Leonardo Bertoni and Stéphane Bonutto portray in “Bertoni – A Life for the shape” his incomparable creations for Citroën Automobile and thus how he influenced the manufacturer’s design for decades: Bertoni’s work even is remarkable to this day – this confirmes the reputation of his designs and models and materializes by the creation the young French premium brand “DS Automobiles”. His irrepressible passion for artistic forms and his absolute will to creative design was outstanding, and it was thanks to him that an industry product car millionfold produced for Citroën rose to a sculptural artwork.

Book presentation during the celebrations “60 years DS”

As part of the France festival celebrated from 10th to July 12 2015, “DS Automobiles” and the Dusseldorf branch of Peugeot Citroën Retail Germany GmbH celebrate in cooperation with the DS Club Deutschland and “Amicale Citroën & DS Deutschland” the anniversary “60 Years of the DSDS”. One highlight of this jubilee celebration is an exhibition about the historical DS in the Peugeot Citroën Retail Germany GmbH, Dusseldorf branch, at Höherweg 191. In addition to the book presentation by author Stéphane Bonutto, Roland Kayser from Atelier Automobile will hold a lecture on the life and work of Flaminio Bertoni.

Fans und Freunde trauern um Leonardo Bertoni, den letzten Sohn von Flaminio Bertoni. Leonardo, der in Paris in de Rue de Javel am 24. April 1932 zur Welt kam, ist im Alter von 82 Jahren am 27. Januar 2015 gestorben.

Er hat sich über Jahrzehnte bemüht, das Erbe seines Vaters, des legendären Designers von Traction Avant, 2CV, DS, Ami6 und vielen anderen Modellen nicht nur zu erhalten, sondern auch der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen.

Im norditalienischen Varese war die 1999 gegründete “Associazione Internazionale Flaminio Bertoni”, der er vorstand, einer der großen Meilensteine, dieses Erbe zu erhalten, das in einer ganzen Reihe von nationalen Ausstellungen in Varese, Rom, Mailand und international beispielwesweise in Paris, aber auch beispielsweise auf dem Citroën-Welttreffen (ICCCR) in Interlaken 2004 und anderen Veranstaltungen zu sehen war, und die nun in dem eigenen Museum in Varese bewundert werden kann – die Eröffnung wird am 1. Mai 2015 sein.

Darüber bietet die “Expo Bertoni” (www.expo-bertoni.com) als Wanderausstellung die Gelegenheit, einen Einblick in Leben und Werk eines der genialsten Designer, Skulpteur und Schöpfer des letzten Jahrhunderts zu erhalten.

Wir trauern mit unseren Freunden um einen der großen Kämpfer für das Erbe seines Vaters und Bewahrer automobilen Kulturguts. Sein Tod hinterlässt eine große Lücke.

Leonardo Bertoni passed away

On January 27, Leonardo Bertoni, the son of the ingenious inventor, sculptor and designer Flaminio Bertoni, passed away. He was 82.

Leonardo was born on 24th April 1932 in Paris in Rue de Javel. His main mission in the recent decades was to not only preserve the heritage of his father who created such outstanding vehicles such as the Citroën Traction Avant, 2CV, DS and Ami6, but also gain the necessary support in public and also the regional government for his actities.

In Varese, northern Italy’s capital of the Lombardy, he founded the “Associazione Internazionale Flaminio Bertoni” in 1999 to create that international network of fans and friends of his father. As the association’s Chairman, he never got tired to advocate for this heritage – one of the core elements not only being to create the visibility as such, but also to support and initiate numerous national exhibitions in Varese, Rome, Milan and internationally in Paris and beyond. A larger visibility was given to Flaminio Bertoni’s work in the Citroën enthusiast scene along several Citroën world meetings (ICCCR) such as in Interlaken in 2004, Rome 2012 and others. One of the core missions, establishing a dedicated museum in Bertoni’s home town, Varese, took numerous years to get permission, acceptance and support but now is to be set – the opening will be on May 1, 2015.

Furthermore, the “Expo Bertoni” (www.expo-bertoni.com) is another exhibition giving the opportunity to gain an insight into the life and work of one of the most brilliant designer, sculptor and creator of the last century.

Leonardo’s death is a tragic loss for all of us who considered him a friend as well as a loss for the Citroën enthusiast world, the Assoziazione Flaminio Bertoni in Varese and the entire world.

Letzte Woche hat uns die neue Ausgabe der mittlererweile zweisprachig (italienisch-französisch) erscheindenden “Flaminio Bertoni” erreicht. Das in Zusammenarbeit mit der “Associazione Internazionale Flaminio Bertoni” nunmehr im 7. Jahr aufgelegte und pro Jahr drei Mal erscheinende Journal, Auflage 1.300 Exemplare, berichtet neben neuen Design-Entwicklungen (Vergleich DS3 Cabriolet mit dem 2CV sowie einer historischen Betrachtungen der Cabriolet von Citroën) u.a. auch über Giotto Bizzarrini, der insbesondere den Iso Grifo A/3, den 5300 Strada und dem 1900 Europa und den Prototyp zum Ferrari GTO stylistisch verantwortete. Neben Berichten der Assiciazione und Neues aus dem Museum fanden wir auch einen Hinweis auf einen Modell-Nachbau des 1968 als Leichenwagen umgebauten DS Cabriolets, mit dem der 2002 heilig gesprochene Pater Pio von Pietrelcina, einer der populärsten Heiligen Italiens, zu seiner letzten Ruhestätte überführt wurde.

Latest edition of “Flaminio Bertoni” published

Last week we received the new issue of the bilingual (Italian and French) journal “Flaminio Bertoni.” In collaboration with the “Associazione Internazionale Flaminio Bertoni” and now in the 7th year, issued three times a year and published in an edition of 1300 copies, the journal reports in addition to new design trends (comparing the new DS3 convertible with the historic 2CV, next to a historical reflection of the convertibles by Citroën) and others also on Giotto Bizzarrini, who was stylistically responsible in particular the Iso Grifo A/3, the 5300 Europe and the 1900 Strada, and the prototype of the Ferrari GTO. Nouvelle Edition: Le Journal “Flaminio Bertoni”

La semaine dernière, nous avons reçu la nouvelle émission du journal en bilingue (italien et français) “Flaminio Bertoni”. En collaboration avec l’ “Associazione Internazionale Bertoni Flaminio” et maintenant publiée dans le 7ème année, trois fois par an et dans une édition des 1300 exemplaires, le focus dans cette edition est sur les cabriolets Citroën – une retrospective historique des cabriolets Citroën et aussi des reflections sur la dernière “DS3 Cabriolet”. Entre autres on trouve aussi un article sur Giotto Bizzarrini, qui était responsable en particulier de la Iso Grifo A/3, la 5300 Europe et la 1900 Strada et pour le dessin du prototype de la Ferrari GTO. En plus des rapports de Assiciazione et actualités du musée, nous avons également trouvé une référence à une réplique du modèle de’une Cabriolet DS modifié corbillard, avec le 2002 canonisé Padre Pio, un des saints les plus populaires de l’Italie, a été transféré à sa dernière demeure en 1968.
